ACTIVITY PROPOSAL
I: TITLE
2021 DISTRICT SEARCH FOR BEST BRIGADA PAGBASA DOCUMENTARY
II: RATIONALE
The Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Zamboanga del Sur, Sominot 2
District commits to ensure that learning must continue in the midst of the challenges
and uncertainties of Face to Face brought by the threat of COVID-19 Pandemic.
III: OBJECTIVES:
1. Synergize efforts and resources to address education-related challenges
especially on literacy and numeracy.
IV. DESCRIPTION:
A. Technical
The coverage of the event in the documentary shall cover from August 3 to
September 30, 2021.
Each School will submit one 30-40 minute Documentary which will cover all
the initiatives/ activities of all schools in the School.
The first level of competition will be in the School Level. The winning entry
per School will be judged to determine the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each District.
Attached Annex 1 specifies the competition guidelines and Annex 2 for
Judging Criteria.
Awarding will be done during the World Teachers’ Day Celebration.

Annex 1
1. ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to all teachers, School Reading Coordinators and District
Reading Coordinators whose passion is to cover stories and events through short
films / documentary.
2. GUIDELINES
Shows Reading Best Practices of the School/ District anchored with the
features of RESCUE-L the ZDS Reading Program like;
A. The use of LTR-Reading Tool, Use of English Reading Kits, Use of Big and
small books and the use of Teacher- made Reading materials.
4. SUBMISSION
Entries in the QualCi level must be submitted to the Activity TWG in the first
week of October. Specific date still to be announced .
Winning entries in the QualCi Level will be submitted to the Division PRAISE
Committee through;
EPS-II Jay frix Catacutan - ( jayfrix.catacutan@deped.gov.ph) or
DRC Evangeline C. Lamayo- ( evangeline.lamayo001@deped.gov.ph)
5. AWARDS
Awarding will be during the celebration of World Teachers’ Day- TBA

The film displays innovative ideas or story telling

Strongly stimulates thoughts and ideas.
The documentary provokes an emotional

Technical Quality
Cinematography (10%)
The camera is steady. Shots are framed and
focused.
Close-ups and camera angles are used to add
meaning to the story.
The lighting and camera positioning is visually
effective.
Editing (5%)
Editing helps to clarify the story and enhance
the pacing and flow of the story.
Transitions are smooth and well-paced.
Opening titles and closing credits are appealing
and easy to read.
Audio, Music, Sound Effects (5%)
The audio and soundtrack complement the
story.
The dialogue and/or narration is clear and easy
to understand.
Sound effects is appropriate to the story.
