Introduction

Name of interviewee: Jean Sherfik

Title of interviewee: Orange Theory Fitness Coach and Manager

Date of interview: Orange Theory Fitness March 25, 2024.

Interviewees History:

The reason that I had decided to choose Jean as a interview candidate is because of my love for

fitness training. Every single week and day of my life I am and have been doing some sort of

physical activity to better improve my mind and body. What I love doing more than that though

is leading other people through the workout or activity as I work through and lead with them.

There is nothing more that I love than watching others learn, grow, and get better over a

process of time. This is another reason I had decided to choose Jean, she is a leader. Jean is a

graduate at IU where she was a great track athlete at the university. Following her college

career she then became a yoga teacher or instructor, before this she had originally planned on

going to law school. She decided not to persue this career and decided to try the fitness

industry. After about three or four years of being a personal trainer she decided to become a

certified yoga teacher. She was a teacher at a company known as vibe. People who were in the

class were members of Orange Theory Fitness, this is where she was introduced to the

franchise. One of her acquaintances talked to her about becoming a teacher at Orange Theory

Fitness. She then connected with them through a birthday party! She drove to her first class

participated in it and fell in love with it. She would wake up around four AM three days a week

while managing three kids. On top of all of this she was teaching yoga as well. Once they had
signed their franchie agreement she was Orange Theory Fitnesses first employee. She started

with them as a manager in the company. It was a great way for her to start her career. She was

initially brought in because of he outstanding performance at her launch training. She had to

prove that she was going to be worthy to be a head coach at Orange Theory. So far she has

been a head coach for 6 years and is still going through trainings.
