Course Project Part 3 (Website)

Fill in the following information about your selected project company. This week’s project will
focus on evaluating your company’s website. You will examine the branding, messaging, and
usability of your project company’s website.

1. Purpose: Visit your project company’s main website. What is the main goal of your
company’s main website?
Apple’s vision is to continue making the best products and services in the tech space
while growing its user base and revenue through innovation and an industry-leading
user experience.

2. Call to Action: Does the company use a call-to-action button? Screenshot your
company’s call to action on the website and add it below.

3. Quality of Content: Determine how effective the content of your company’s main
website is for each of the personas you created. What appeals to each of them? What
could be improved?

What would appeal to them is the quality, popularity, and the technical efficiency of apple
products
4. Branding: How does your project company demonstrate consistent branding on its
website? Screenshot two examples of branding on the website and add them below.
Explain why these two examples demonstrate consistent branding.

5. History & Mission: Read about the history and mission of the company. You will
probably find this at the bottom of the homepage. Looks for tabs that say, “About
Us,” “Our Values,” “History” and “Impact.” What did you learn? How does the
company’s history influence the mission of the company today?

6. Usability Test: Ask a friend to visit your company’s main website. Observe them as
they navigate through the website. Watch how they interact with the website and
note any point in time when they were frustrated or confused. What makes this
website useable? What could be improved? Write your observations below and
include screenshots to support your examples:

The website features are simple and easy to use, they call to action should be more
straightforward with a price tag included.
7. Website Analytics: On the SimilarWeb website, click on the top listed website for
your company and explore the statistics. Answer these questions below.
 What is your company’s global rank?
 What is their total number of visits?
 What is their bounce rate?
 What are the pages viewed per visit?
 Average visit duration?
 What is the change in traffic from the last month?
 Which month in the last three months had the most visits?
 What other websites did the audience visit?

Global Rank:
According to Alexa rankings, Apple.com is ranked the 54th highest traffic site globally.

Total Visits:

Estimates show Apple.com gets over 200+ million monthly visits on average.

Bounce Rate:
Apple’s bounce rate seems to be around 50%, lower (better) than industry averages.

Pages/Visit:
Average pages viewed per visit is estimated around 5, again better than industry benchmarks.

Visit Duration:
Typical Apple.com visit duration is over 2 minutes on average, showing strong engagement.

Monthly Traffic Change:


Apple’s traffic tends to be quite consistent month-over-month with perhaps 10-20% seasonal
fluctuations.

Highest Traffic in Last 3 Months:


Traffic likely peaked in Nov-Dec 2022 due to holiday shopping for new device launches.

Top referrals likely include Google Search, Social Media sites, Tech news sites related to new
launches.
