LEARNING OUTCOMES

Working with students, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) gives a vast experience
and can a wide range of learning outcomes that go well beyond scholastic achievements. Here
are a few possible areas for development:

 Individual Growth: I developed resilience and resourcefulness by learning how to

overcome obstacles and adjust to various environments.
 Self-Advocacy and Confidence: Students develop self-advocacy and confidence skills
by navigating systems and speaking up for their needs which usually children don’t
 Social and Emotional Learning: I gained empathy, communication, and emotional
control skills via interactions with peers and mentors who were the staff of the NGO
 Academic and Skill Development: Using a range of accommodations and assistive
technologies, I was exposed to and gained experience with inclusive education
practices that support inclusive learning environments.
 Lifelong Learning Skills: Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) prioritize
education as a child’s core element with which they would be living
