1. Musical Analysis
Tinga Layo is written in 2/4 and contains most of the notes in a major scale. The melody
contains a beginning two phrases and an ending phrase. The rhythmic elements are a little more
complicated and 16th, 8th, 16th rhythms are used throughout the song, maintaining a rhythmic
motif.

The song can be used to teach a number of specific musical elements such as beginning
to teach new complicated rhythms and/or introducing time signature. The melody allows for an
