The batch code applied to the bulk truck, bag or tote will be one of the codes described below.
Batch Code A
Batch Code system consists of:
- First letter = month of production (letter I is omitted); A(January), B (February), C(March),
D(April), E(May), F(June), G(July), H(August), J(September), K(October), L(November)
and M(December).
- Second letter = year of production (letter I is omitted) – F (2016), G (2017), H (2018), J
(2019), K (2020), A (2021), B (2022).
- Third letter = manufacturing location - X = South Sioux City, NE, I = NA tollers, Y =
Vanscoy, SK, Canada.
- 4 digits = batch number
Batch Code B
A typical batch number would be similar to 110103520 representing Homecraft Pulse 1101
packaged Feb 4 in 2020

Batch Code C
The lot number is based on the production date. For example, if product was produced on May
14th, 2017, the lot number would be 20170514.
Batch Code D
Ingredion uses a 10-character code to identify lots or batches of pulse products (HOMECRAFT®
Pulse Flours and VITESSENCE® Pulse Proteins). The first 5 characters are AGT-M, followed by a
5-digit sequential number.
Batch Code E
The batch code consists of 6 digits and utilizes the Julian Date, the last digit of the year of
manufacture, the production line, and the production shift.
Example: 036521
036 = The thirty sixth day of the year, in this case February 5th.
5 = The last digit of the year of manufacture, in this case 2015
2 = The line the product was produced on, in this case, line #2.
1 = The shift that produced product, in this case 1st shift.
The batch code explanation applies to VITESSENCE® Pulse 1556 Protein pellets:
PP-000277. PP is for Protein Pellets followed by a sequential number that is the raw material bin
number that finished product was produced from.
