INVITATION FOR POWER UP ’ 23 – LACAS A LEVEL (Burki Campus)

The Apex

Dear Sir/Madam,
LACAS Burki A Level is excited to present to you Power Up'23 - A
mega sports extravaganza. Following the success of the first 3 editions,
we are determined to make the 4th edition an even greater one. We
cordially invite you to participate in a series of 16 sports categories
for boys and girls.
Power Up’ 23 is a 3 - day High School Sports Event scheduled to be in
action from 6th - 8th October 2023.
Our management will be making sure it displays a spectacular
showcasing of sportsmanship and entertainment, with distinct rules in
place. LACAS Burki A Level will only be hosting regular students of
well reputed institutions and their recommended officials. Private
teams and individuals will not be allowed to register. All participants
must be under 19 years and 6 months of age.
The early bird registration deadline will expire on 3rd October '23.
You may confirm your institution's participation by submitting the
registration fee to the LACAS accomodated Burki School Office. Teams are
to be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

of each category are attached herewith. Please feel free to contact us for

CRICKET
Overview and Rules of Procedure

Each team can have a maximum of 11


participants, 9 on- field, and 2 substitutes.
All necessary equipment will be provided to the
players, however, it's recommended that participants
bring their own equipment.
Participants should be in proper sports kit.
Each match will consist of 4 overs, with the final
match comprising of 6 overs.
One bowler can bowl a maximum of 2 overs and the
rest, one over each.
In finals, two bowlers can bowl a maximum of 2 overs
and the rest, one over each.
Matches will be conducted on a knockout basis
(through open draws if required).
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the match
fixture will result in a walkover.
Number of overs may vary depending upon the
number of teams registered.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and
non- challengeable.
Misconduct of any sort will not be tolerated and
may result in the termination, of an individual, or
an entire team's participation in the event.
FUTSAL
Overview and Rules of Procedure
Each Team must consist of 8 players, 5 on-field, and
3 substitutes.
Rolling substitutes are allowed.
Participants should be in proper kits.
In knockout matches, each half will be played for 10
minutes, with a 5- minute break between halftime.
In the final, each half will be played for 15 minutes, with
a 5-minute break between halftime.
Matches will be played on a ground field; trainers
are preferred.
Back passes are not allowed.
In case of a tie, the match will proceed towards a
penalty ultimatum (3 per team).
Matches will be conducted on a knockout basis (through
open draws if required).
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the match fixture
will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and non-
challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will not be
tolerated and may result in the termination, of an
individual, or an entire team's participation in the event.
BASKETBALL
Overview and rules of procedure

Each team can have a maximum of 8 participants.


Participants on-field during the match will be 5 with 3
substitutes.
Participants should be in proper kit.
Matches will be held in the following format (5
minutes - quarters).
Semi-final and final will have a total time of 28
minutes (four equal quarters; 7 minutes each).
The 3 seconds rule has to be followed.
A player who commits 5 fouls in a match will be
disqualified and he must be subbed within 30
seconds. Matches will be conducted on a knockout
basis (through open draws if required).
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the
match fixture will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and non-
challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will not be
tolerated and may result in the termination, of an
individual, or an entire team's participation in the
event.
Volleyball

8 Participants per Team (6 on the Field and 2


substitutions).
Best of 3 sets will be played, each of 15 points.
Standard volleyball rules will be applied.
Participants should be in proper kits.
Matches will be conducted on a knockout basis
(through open draws if required).
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the match
fixture will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and non-
challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will not be
tolerated and may result in the termination, of an
individual, or an entire team's participation in the
event.
Throwball
Overview and rules of procedure

Standard Throwball rules will be followed.


Each team will consist of 8 players, 6 active
players at the time of play, and 2 substitutes.
The ‘best of three’ format will be followed with each
set consisting of 15 points.
The team that scores will serve the ball.
A player cannot jump while throwing the ball.
A player cannot jump while serving the ball.
A player should serve within 5 seconds after the
referee whistles.
A player cannot serve the ball before the referee’s
whistle.
Matches will be conducted on a knockout basis
(through open draws if required).
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the
match fixture will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and non-
challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will not be
tolerated and may result in the termination, of an
individual, or an entire team's participation in the
event.
DODGEBaLl
Overview and Rules of Procedure
Each team will consist of 8 players, 6 active
players at the time of play, and 2 substitutes.
No substitutions will be allowed once the round has
commenced except, in the case of injuries.
Matches will be conducted on a knockout basis
(through open draws if required).
In case of a tie, an additional tie-breaker game will
be played to determine the winner.
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the
match fixture will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and non-
challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will not be
tolerated and may result in the termination, of an
individual, or an entire team's participation in the
event.
BADMINTON
Overview and Rules of Procedure

There will be two divisions;


i) Badminton Solos
ii) Badminton Double.
Each game consists of 15 points.
The semi-final will consist of a single game of 21 points.
The Final round will be contested as a best of 3
consisting of 15 points.
Standard badminton rules will be observed during the
match. However, rules will be briefed at the start of the
match.
Matches will be conducted on a knockout basis
(through open draws if required).
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the match
fixture will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and non-
challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will not be
tolerated and may result in the termination, of an
individual, or an entire team's participation in the
event.
Tug of war
overview and rules of procedure

Standard Tug of War rules will be followed.


Each team can comprise of no more than 6
players. Lowering your elbow below the knee
level would be given as a foul and touching the
ground for a long period of time is also
considered a foul.
Matches will be conducted on a knockout basis
(through open draws if required).
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the match
fixture will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and non-
challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will not be
tolerated and may result in the termination, of an
individual, or an entire team's participation in the
event.
STRENGTH MANIA
Overview and Rules of Procedure

The format will consist of:


i) 15 Bench presses (20kg)
ii) 15 Push-ups
iii) 15 Squats
iv) 20 Battle Rope
v) 12 Burpees
The participant who completes the entire circuit in the
shortest time will be declared the winner.
Participants cannot skip any segment of the circuit.
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the match event
start will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and non-
challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will not be tolerated
and may result in the termination, of an individual, or an
entire team's participation in the event.
ARM WRESTLING
Overview and Rules of Procedure

The shoulders of both players must be in a square


position before the match starts.
A pin cannot be made if the elbow is out of the
pocket.
To make a winning pin you must touch your
opponent to the touchpad.
A false start will be considered a foul.
Intentional slip-outs will be considered as fouls.
Three fouls will result in disqualification from the
match.
Matches will be conducted on a knockout basis
(through open draws if required).
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the match
fixture will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and
non-challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will not
be tolerated and may result in the termination, of
an individual, or an entire team's participation in
the event.
ATHLETICS
Overview and Rules of Procedure

The categories for Athletics are as follows:


1) 60 m Sprint
2) Relay 200 m (4 players in a team)
3) Long Jump
There will be one round for each segment.
The person/team who finishes the round in the
shortest time duration will be declared the winner.
Standard Relay Race rules will be followed, with a
50m partition between each runner.
Standard Long Jump rules will be followed.
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the match
fixture will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and non-
challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will not be
tolerated and may result in the termination, of an
individual, or an entire team's participation in the
event.
TABLE TENNIS
Overview and Rules of Procedure

For each game, the first player to reach 15 points


wins, however, the game must be won by a two-point
margin.
The Final match will be 3 Games of 15 points.
Each player serves two points in a row after which the
server is changed.
All standard Table Tennis rules must be followed.
Matches will be conducted on a knockout basis
(through open draws if required).
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the match
fixture will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and non-
challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will not be
tolerated and may result in the termination, of an
individual, or an entire team's participation in the
event.
GAMING
Overview and Rules of Procedure

FIFA 22:
Half-length: 5 minutes.
Injuries: ON
Manual Keeping: OFF
Game speed: Normal
Legacy defending is not allowed.
Default setting, unless both players mutually agree
on a different camera angle.
Updated squads will be in play.
Tactical defending.
Unlockable teams will not be allowed.
Matches will be conducted on a knockout basis
(through open draws if required).
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the
match fixture will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and non-
challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will not be
tolerated and may result in the termination, of an
individual, or an entire team's participation in the
event.

1v1 20 kill matches will be played with a time limit
of 10 minutes.
The player with either the highest number of kills by
the end of 10 mins or who reaches 20 kills first will
win.
Maps will be decided by a mutual decision between
the players.
Final will be of 20 minutes.
All participants are advised to report to the Event
Head 30 minutes before the match starts.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and non-
challengeable. Misbehavior will not be tolerated and
may lead to expulsion of the team from the
competition.
tekken 7:
TEKKEN 7:
1v1 battles
Till top 3 there will be 1 match each and three rounds
per match.
1 minute per round.
Pausing or exiting will cause immediate disqualification.
No DLCs.
No Macros or Mixbox.
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the match
fixture will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and non-
challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will not be
tolerated and may result in the termination, of an
individual, or an entire team's participation in the
event.

NOTE*
The console in-play is Ps4.
Participants are advised to bring their own
controllers.
The use of modified joysticks is permitted.
SNOOKER
Overview and Rules of Procedure

All-round matches will be played on a knockout


basis. Single round matches will be played till
the Semifinal. The best of 3 will be applied in
the Final game.
6 reds game.
Standard snooker rules will be applied.
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the
match fixture will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and
non-challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will
not be tolerated and may result in the
termination, of an individual, or an entire
team's participation in the event.
CHESS
Overview and Rules of Procedure

Toss will be held to decide the Blacks and Whites.


Time-Based game of 15 minutes.
All other standards chess rules will be followed.
All- round matches will be conducted on a
knockout basis (through open draws if
required).
Failure to show up within 10 minutes of the
match fixture will result in a walkover.
Decisions made by the officials will be final and
non- challengeable. Misconduct of any sort will
not be tolerated and may result in the
termination, of an individual, or an entire team's
participation in the event.
RUBIK’S CUBE
Overview and Rules of Procedure
The Cube in-play will be the 3x3 Rubik's cube
variant. Each player will receive 3 attempts to record
the shortest solve time.
The Player with the shortest solve time will be
announced the winner.
There are two types of penalties:
1): +2, Will add two additional seconds to your solve
time, if the player ;
- Places the cube outside of the mat ,
- Starting the timer while touching the cube,
- Not releasing the puzzle before stopping,
. - Having the cube be one move away from solved,
2):DNF (Did Not Finish),
- The solve is disqualified if the
cube requires at least two more moves to be solved

AWARDS POLICY
The Best Delegation Trophy will be in the order of best
institution and will be awarded in accordance with a point
system. The points are as follows:
• Team Category Winner - 10 Points
• Team Category Runner Up - 5 points
• Individual Category Winner - 5 Points
• Individual Category Runner Up - 2. 5 Points
Both, Men's and Women's categories will have
separate category awards.

PROTEST FEE
To encourage sportsmanship and ensure a smoother
event experience for the delegates, we present you
with the PROTEST FEE rule.
Which is as follows:
1. Any delegation that wishes to protest would be
required to fill out a protest form and submit an
amount of RS 2000/- to the on-scene RELEVANT
directorate Members of POWERUP.
2. The parties at dispute would be isolated and the
Protest CLAIM would be investigated.
3. In the event that the claim is found to be valid, the
amount taken before would be returned and
necessary action would be taken to resolve it.
4. However, if the claim is found to be invalid, not
only would the amount not be returned, but the
delegation would be barred from making any
further protest claims during the course of the
event.
5. The final decision rests at the discretion of the
Directorate and ultimately the Executive Council.
6. Failure to comply with the decision may result in
disqualification.
