How calculate the equivalent weight

Exam. Calculate the Equivalent weight for this substance
HCl – H2SO4 – NaOH – Al(OH)3
Example:
1- Aconcentrated solution of aqueous ammonia is 28.0% w/w
NH3 and has a density of 0.899 g/mL. What is the molar
concentration of NH3 in this solution?

2-The maximum allowed concentration of chloride in a

municipal drinking water supply is 2.50 *102 ppm Cl–. When the
supply of water exceeds this limit, it often has a distinctive salty
taste.What the molarity
Soluotion
**How many moles of Na2CO3 are there in 10.0 L of 2.00
M solution?
M = moles of solute / liters of solution
2.0 M = x / 0.0100 L <--- note the conversion of mL to L
x = 0.020 mol
Problem: Determine the molarity for each of the following

1- 0.444 mol of CoCl2 in 0.654 L of solution? Ans. 0.679 M

2- 98.0 g of phosphoric acid, H3PO4, in 1.00 L of solution? Ans. 1.00
M
3- 0.2074 g of calcium hydroxide, Ca(OH)2, in 40.00 mL of
solution?Ans. 0.06998 M
4- 10.5 kg of Na2SO4·10H2O in 18.60 L of solution? Ans. 1.75 M
5- 7.0 × 10−3 mol of I2 in 100.0 mL of solution? Ans. 0.070 M
6- 1.8 × 104 mg of HCl in 0.075 L of solution? Ans. 6.6 M
7- A 2.00-L bottle of a solution of concentrated HCl was purchased
for the general chemistry laboratory. The solution contained 868.8
g of HCl. What is the molarity of the solution? Ans. 11.9 M
8- What is the molarity of a solution made by dissolving 1.461 g of
NaCl in 250.0 mL of water? (MM of NaCl = 58.443 g/mol)
Example: What is the molarity of a solution prepared by
dissolving 15.0 g of sodium hydroxide in enough water to
make a total of 225 mL of solution?
Eex. What is the molarity of a solution that contains
1.724 moles of H2SO4 in 2.50 L of solution?

Eex.What is the molarity of a solution prepared by dissolving

25.0 g of HCl (g) in enough water to make 150.0 mL of
solution?
1-How many moles of NaCl are contained in 100.0
mL of a 0.200 M solution?
Solution:
0.200 M = x / 0.1000 L
x = 0.0200 mol

2- and what the grams of NaCl?

Solution
(0.200 mol L¯1) (0.100 L) =
x / 58.443 g mol¯1
x= 1.17 g
Example ( 2) A standard 0.010 M solution of Na+ is required to calibrate an ion- selective
electrode method to determine sodium. Describe how 500ml of this solution can be
prepared from primary standard Na2 CO3(105.99 mgm/mmol).
