the Japanese syllabary of Katakana

Hiragana and Katakana are all used for representing the Japanese pronunciation.
Compared to Hiragana, Katakana is specifically used for transcription of foreign
language words into Japanese and the writing of loan words; It is also used for
emphasis and technical and scientific terms; and for names of foreigners, plants,
animals, minerals, and also companies.

ア Row

The Japanese language is based on these five vowel sounds: ア,イ,ウ,エ,オ. They can be
used alone or attached to either a consonant. For example, a+i= アイ s+a=サ（sa）
