STUDIES

FOR
CHRISTIAN
LIVING

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

PREFACE
Basic Studies for Christian Living is a work that is aimed at laying a solid
foundation and creating a strong impact in the life of every believer that
comes across it – whether a young convert or an older Christian.
It is made up of ten foundational studies, carefully articulated to effect
a change in your spiritual standing.
The studies are designed to be of immense benefit to the man that
approaches them without preconceived ideas but rather a deliberate attempt
by the user, possessing a teachable heart, to draw from the richness of the
study.
The study also serves as a guide for helping the user discover for
himself the deeper things of God which they are designed to reveal.
It is our prayer and desire that godly intentions that informed the
development of these studies shall be fully realised in you. Consequently, we
“commend you to God and to the word of His Grace which is able to give you
an inheritance among the saints in the light (Acts 20:32, Col 1:12).”

GOD’S GRACE!
AMEN!!

EDITORS’ NOTE
The studies here are not perfect, for no Man can receive or transmit to
another the revelation of God expressly and without flaws. Only the books of
the Holy bible are perfect. But we are strongly convinced that they would
lead you to a perfect God from whom you can receive directly and expressly.

Going through any studies here is not a proof that you have experienced
them at least in full. We strongly advocate that you patiently follow the
series as set out, while the Holy Spirit reveals the hidden treasures in the
study. Prayerfully look unto God for each study UNTIL you see its
REALITY in your life. These studies may only run for a period of time,
probably some weeks, months or even a year, but its impact is for a lifetime.

It is expected that you diligently and consistently sit under a tutor all
through this study. Yield yourself to spiritual nurturing. Do not hesitate to
ask questions in your class until you have fully grasped all the content of
each study.
The studies herein are a basic foundation, a starting point for a long walk
with God. Please do not handle it casually. How far you would go with God
is dependent on these key studies.
The major difference between this edition and the former is the addition of
the study – ASSURANCE OF SALVATION – therefore summing the studies
up to eleven as against the original ten studies. Other changes would be
noticed as you go through them. Students are strongly advised to get a good
notebook, possibly a hardcover type, for their assignments and other notes
they may wish to take in the course of this study. The study is designed to
engage you between eight to twelve months. PLEASE DO NOT DISENGAGE
YOURSELF.
God’s grace to you, beloved of God.

STUDY 1

TOPIC: BEING BORN-AGAIN

TEXT: JOHN 3:1-7

INTRODUCTION: After the fall of man, man possessed a nature different

from what he had at creation (a nature of sin). Therefore it becomes an
impossible task to live a life that pleases the Lord. But when the second
Adam came to restore the fallen nature of man, even Jesus our Lord, He
declared, “You must be born again.”

What does it mean to be born again?

To be born again means to have a remarkable change in life and lifestyle as
a result of an encounter with Jesus Christ. It is a re-birth, like being born
all over again.
It also means having a changed nature, a change in gene – regeneration, the
removing of the Adamic nature and putting on the Jesus nature which is as
result of a deliberate and voluntary decision to follow Jesus unreservedly
with total dependency on the Holy Spirit.
This is the only way to start a relationship with God [John3:3].

The Necessity of Being Born-Again

Being born again is inevitable for every man that will-

1. become a member of God’s family; Ephesians 2:19, Romans 8:17, John

1:12. That is to say, membership in God’s family is not an inherited
status, no matter your Christian background.

2. enter God’s kingdom; John 3:5. A person that is not born again can
never stop sinning and thus cannot enter the kingdom of God.

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 4

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

3. escape God’s Judgement; John

Through salvation our past has
3:16-18, Revelation 20:11-15.
been forgiven, our present is
“God is Love” does not come into given meaning, and our future

- Rick Warren
judge it in any life it is found.
Religious or social class
notwithstanding, two options await e veryone: eternal bliss in heaven
for all who receive Christ and consistently walk with Him to the very
end or eternal damnation in hell fire. There is no middle row.

4. experience the reality of the finished work of Jesus: Romans 6:6-7:22,

Col 1:12-13 as found in the following areas-

(a.) Deliverance from the dominion of darkness and power of sin.

For one to be free from the power of Sin, one must be Born-again.
If you see any man that has not come to the knowledge of Jesus,
you have seen a man who is under dominion of darkness and at
such sin reigns over his life. He does not necessarily need to think
about it before doing it.

(b.) Restoration of God’s nature.

Until a man receives God’s nature which is revealed at salvation,
righteous living is mere fallacy of no effect before God. God’s nature
is holiness and sin loses is power over such a life.

(c.) Unrestricted access to the father: Matthew 27:51.

When a man is born again, he receives the privilege of having an
unrestrained access to God. Born-Again also means “Bonding
Again” with the Father through Christ Jesus.

Further Implications for Possessing a New Life in Christ (Born-Again)

1. Being born-again involves coming out of darkness to light: Like a
baby in the womb is in total darkness, so is a man in the dominion of
darkness but once the person is born again, spiritually he passes from
darkness to light. Colossians 1:12-14, 1Peter 2:9. When we were

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 5

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

unbelievers, we lived in darkness and therefore walked blindly,

2Corithians 4:4.
Therefore, we must live as children of light to reflect this change in the
physical or outwardly for people to see, (Matthew 5:14).

2. Coming out of Death to Life:

Ephesians 2:1 & 5, Romans 6:23. Though a man who has not repented
may appear outwardly to be bubbling with life, spiritually and seen
from God’s perspective he is considered as dead. For life without
Christ, an un-regenerated life is no life at all before him. That is why
Jesus came to give life to sinners (John 10:10).

3. Being born again involves separation:

When someone is born again/anew, the Holy Spirit (mid wife) uses the
sword of the spirit (the word of God) to separate the believer from
every bond of sin and old bad habits. John 17:17, Hebrews 4:12,
2Corinthians 6:14-18.
Note: As the Holy Spirit does this spiritually, the believer also has a
part to play. He consciously separates himself from e very appearances
of sin- unbelieving friends, interests, activities etc.

4. Being born again is a complete experience:

Just as e verything a baby needs for maturity is inside the baby, so it
is with anyone who is born again. What is needed is development of
spiritual organs through prayer, the word of God and fellowship.
Growth into maturity follows as the young believer follows daily-
2Peter 1:3, 1Peter 2:2, Hebrews 10:25.

How Can One Be Born Again?

1. Hear the word of God:
It is as we hear God’s word that we understand what Jesus did for us
and then faith to act can be released accordingly. Romans 10: 14 &
17, Acts 2:36-37.

2. Brokenness and Conviction:

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 6

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

Being born again is not just an emotional thing. The sinner comes
face to face with the truth of his sinful nature and sincerely asks for
forgiveness. It dawns on him that he is helpless without God to thrive
spiritually (Romans 7:14-25) and that he requires an inert power, the
power of ‘sonship’ to thrive spiritually. There cannot be genuine
repentance without conviction of sin. Acts 2:37, 16:30-34.
Remorsefulness only stops here. But brokenness must lead one to
believing, confessing and repenting from one’s sin.

3. Believing and confessing the Lord Jesus as Lord and Saviour (Romans
10:9-10). The word “Lord” connotes a person who has right and
unquestionable authority over something or someone. Hence you are
confessing your agreement to live, as He will have you live, not as your
“self” will have you live. Confessing is proof that you believe.

4. Repentance from your sins:

This involves hatred or averseness towards sin and turning away from
it. Acts 2:38, 3: 19, 17:30. This decision is never real until it is backed
up by action. It begins with a firm commitment and determination not
to return to the former way of life that separates one from God.

When this has happened in any man’s life such a person should begin to see
himself through God’s eyes. How?

i. Justified; (that is such person is pronounced righteous by God) the

capacity of sin committed before the experience notwithstanding.
Romans 3:22-24.
ii. New Creature has no past life. Before God, it is gone, passed away
(i.e Old Life) 2Corinthians 5:17.
iii. His child and an Heir (Romans 8:16-17, John 1:12).

If you don’t see yourself the way God sees you, you can’t become the person
you are meant to be.

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 7

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

CONCLUSION: Being born again is the beginning of our Christian faith and
relationship with God which does not rest on a casual decision. It is neither
optional nor is it racially driven. Therefore it is an experience every human
who desires eternity with God must one day have. No wonder Jesus declared
you M UST BE BORN AGAIN.

Note that the depth of your conviction and commitment at this entry point of
faith will determine to a large extent, the length you may go in defending it
and in living a victorious Christian life over a long haul.

Knowing the perils/dangers of not being born again and having responded
to the voice of the Spirit in the course of this study, may He pour on you the
grace to live up to your new decision. Amen and Amen.

STUDY 2

TOPIC: ASSURANCE OF SALVATION

TEXT: 1JOHN 5:6-13

INTRODUCTION
Assurance is freedom from uncertainty. Anyone who receives Christ in his
life (or becomes born again) receives salvation. Salvation from sin
guarantees eternal life which was made possible by Christ death on the
cross (1Jn 5:11).
We should therefore come to a place in our

heaven to spend our eternity with Christ. And
every man that has this assurance must work
in its reality by daily purifying himself, even as He is pure (1Jn 3:2-3).

STUDY GUIDE
1. Who is qualified to have an assurance of salvation? Jn 1:12, 3:3, 16,
Heb 11:6.

2. What give us full assurance that we are saved?

There are two basic things that give us Assurance that we are saved;
- A. the Word of God;
i. The truth and the infallibility of the word of God. John 5:24, Ps
119:89, Matt 24:35,
- B. our Personal Experience;
ii. The inner witness of God’s Spirit in us, Romans 8:16-17.
Witness is born by the Holy Spirit with our spirit that we are
children of God.

3. What could create doubts in some persons over the assurance of their
salvation?
i. Ignorance of the word of God, Hosea 4:6, Eph 1:18.
ii. Quenching and not Walking with the Spirit, 1Thess 5:19, Gal
5:16-17, Eph 4:30.

v. Being unequally yoked unbelievers, 2Cor 6:14-17.

4. What do you do when even after giving your life to God and at some
point you begin to doubt your Salvation?
i. Ask the Lord to reveal unconfessed sin. Then follow through by
repenting. 1Jn 1:9
ii. Read your Bible daily. Study specific verses about salvation.
1Peter 2:2, 1Jn 3:19-21.

iii. Pray regularly. Talk to God and ask that He help you. Luke 18:1

iv. Trust the Lord. Remember He loves you greatly. Prov. 3:5-6, Ps
121:1-2.

v. Rebuke discouraging thoughts and remain steadfast. 2Cor 10:5,

CONCLUSION
We have all sinned and deserve God's judgment. God, the Father, sent His
only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the
creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much
that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve,
was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly
believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Saviour,
declaring, "Jesus is Lord," and walking in daily obedience to his word, you
will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven. This is
the assurance that we have. And this knowledge keeps us in perpetual
peace.

MEMORY VERSE: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never
perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. John 10:28

QUESTIONS/ASSIGNMENTS:

John 10:27-30, Ephesians 2:8, Romans 10:13, 1John 3:14.
2. Owing to the fact that Jesus himself said “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord,
Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, And Many will say to Me on that day,
‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out
demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to

STUDY 3
TOPIC: THE W ORD OF GOD
TEXT: 1PETER 2:2

INTRODUCTION: Just as food from our physical parents nourishes and

tends our bodies, so does the word of God. As a baby dies without
nourishment and care, a child of God will quench the spirit’s fire in him if
he/she stops taking in the pure spiritual milk of the word of God.

The Nature of God’s W ord

“Heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall never pass away”
Matthew 24:35. God values his words more than his name (Psalm138:2). His
very Godhead finds expression in His Word. In the scripture there are
several things the bible uses to describe the nature of the word of God.
(1.) The Truth: John 17:17, 2Timothy 2:15; it is the correct standard for
judging any situation, circumstances or occurrence. This truth
sanctifies and makes one free, John 8:32.
(2.) Divine Mirror: It shows us how we are and sets a proper standard
for acceptable Christian character.
James 1:23-25, Hebrews 4:12.
(3.) Perfect Law of Liberty: The word of “We must allow the Word
of God to confront us, to
God is the perfect law, not just an disturb our security, to
ordinary constitution that is subject undermine our
complacency and to
to amendment. Its relevance never
overthrow our patterns
phases out over time, nor is it of thought and
overtaken by modernism. It is the behaviour.”

law that governs all God’s people. - John R. W Stott

James1:25 Psalm 19:7. Nothing can

be added or subtracted from it.
Importance of the W ord of God to the Believer

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 12

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

(1.) It nourishes the believer, helping him to grow, 1Peter 2:2. As he

begins to take in God’s word, people around him/her will see
changes (growth, maturity, a righteous life). Without the word of
God, there will be no growth.
(2.) It keeps him away from sin, Psalm 119:11, 105,
(3.) It stirs him up for daily spiritual activities, Psalm 19:7.
(4.) It forms a solid foundation for Christian life, Matthew 7:24-27.
(5.) It equips the believer for facing persecution (1Peter 3:17) and for
withstanding temptation (Matthew 4:1-11).

HOW TO STUDY GOD’S WORD

(1.) It should be studied systematically:
a. Book Study: this entails studying God’s word book by book e.g.
Matthew, Mark, Luke, etc.

b. Character Study: Picking a character say David or Paul to

study critically, how such a person lived – seeing good things to
learn and weaknesses to avoid.

c. Topical Study: this could be applied especially depending on

your spiritual need for the time e.g. faith, prayer, love, etc.

d. Case Study: this implies studying is particular thing that was

recorded as part of God’s word for the purpose of gaining more
insight and understanding over the incident and then
transformation of life e.g. Ahab and Naboth vineyard (1Kings
21), the temptation of Jesus (Matthew 4:1-11), etc.

e. Word Study: this is the study of a word in the bible. It may

involve looking at other parts of the bible to see how it was
used, in order to fully unlock the meaning e.g. “But” in 2Kings
5:1. It can also be applied using other systems like book study,

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 13

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

case study for the purpose of understanding the portion well via
guided interpretation.

(2.) The W ord of God should be studied regularly, Acts 17:11, Psalm
1:2, 1Peter 2:2. This leads to acquaintance with the contents of
God’s word (the Bible), which is applied in tackling challenges we
face as Christians.
(3.) It should be studied prayerfully, Psalm 118:18-19, Proverbs 2:1-5.
This does necessarily imply that prayers must be said before
studying the scriptures each time, though this is good. It points
rather to that sense of dependence on the Lord and Him alone to
grant you understanding and insight in His word (Rhema), and
grace to obey biblical injunctions.

Note: Understanding of the scripture is divinely granted, it has nothing to

do with intelligence or great learning capacity.

HOW TO TAKE IN THE W ORD OF GOD

1. Hearing: Romans 10:17, Luke 10:38-42.
2. Reading: Revelation 1:3, this brings about knowledge of God’s word.
3. Studying: Acts 17:11, Ezra 7:10, 2Timothy 2:15 (KJV). Studying
involves close examination; this brings about understanding of God’s
word.
4. Memorizing: Psalm 119:11. This leads to storing of God’s word in our
memory for purpose of retrieving in times of need.
5. Meditating: Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:1-3. In meditating, His words unfold
the more, as if a sudden light is thrown into the word being studied.

STEPS TO FRUITFULNESS
1. Understand the word: Understanding of God’s word is a pre-requisite
for the application of it. This involves a lot of probing and asking
questions such as;
(a.) What is the context of the passage?
(b.) What does it mean?

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 14

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

(c.) How does it relate to practical Christian life? Luke 24:45,

Proverbs 2:3-4, Acts 8:30-31.
2. Accepting the word: Marks 4:20: Until the word is accepted, it
cannot be obeyed. Acceptance will mean subjection of the will to God’s
word and taking a decision to obey it. John 6:60, Mathew 19:11-12.
3. Retaining the word: This involves memorizing and meditation in
order to enhance recall. There is also need to depend on God to help
you. Luke 8:15, Romans 1:28.
4. Preserving in practice: Luke 8:15, Roman 2:7, James 1:29. Here we
are to practice what we understood, accepted and retained as truth.
Even if we fail initially as we persevere, we will be fruitful.

CONCLUSION: The word of God is the greatest asset, which God gave
mankind for it contains God’s standard for our living. The best way to
appreciate this privilege is by longing for it as a baby longs for milk and
obeying it as the pattern for our living. It is a prerequisite for our spiritual
growth just as food is for our physical growth.

MEMORY VERSE: 1Peter 2:2, “As newborn babies, desire the sincere milk of
the word tha t you may grow thereby”, (KJV)

QUESTIONS/ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Why is the word of God (Bible) a very important tool in Christendom?
2. From the following bible passages, how did the Bible came to be? 2Tim 3:16,
2Peter 1:20-21, 2Sam 23:2.
3. Find the meaning of the Greek words, Logos and Rhema as regards studying the
word of God. Find the relationship and differences between the two.
4. Get a One Year Bible Reading Plan from your Bible Study Leader and diligently
follow it to the end. Also ask for an audio edition if you have a device that can
play it.

STUDY 4

TOPIC: PRAYER
TEXTS: LUKE 18:1, 6:12.

INTRODUCTION: When our Lord and master Jesus Christ walked the earth,
it was observed in his life that praying was his custom. It was an essential
part of His daily life, not just a tedious task (as se veral of us see it) and so
he left us with the injunction “Men ought always to pray and not to faint”.
What is prayer? Prayer can be described as man communing with God. It
can also be defined as an expression of a soul’s sincere desire to reach God.
Prayer is both a duty and a lifestyle of a believer.

WHY DO WE NEED TO PRAY?

(1.) It is a means of fellowshipping (communing) with our father. Prayer
is not all about making requests, it is a RELATIONSHIP. God is not only
creator but also our father. He longs to relate with us his children and
prayer is one of the several means of forging it. Without this communing in
prayer, there will be little or no connection between us and our fathe r.
(2.) It is a means of expressing our need for God (showing dependence
on him, 2Chronicle 7:14, Exodus 2:23-25. One of the things that God
appreciates in men is dependence on him. In fact, the man who is the
strongest is NOT the man who has strength on his own but the man who
draws strength form God.
(3.) It is an established procedure for God responding to the dwellers of
the earth. Exodus 2:23-25, Matthew 7:7, Luke 21 22, James 4:13a. We can
only access God via prayers.
TYPES OF PRAYER
(1.) Thanksgiving, (prayer of appreciation) Psalm 75:1.
(2.) Adoration, worship & praising, (prayer of honour and reverence).
Psalm 93:1-2, Matthew 6:9.

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 16

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

(3.) Supplication - (prayer of request) Acts 4:29-30, Matthew 6:11,

Philippians 4:6.
(4.) Petition: A type of prayer in which we report someone or a situation to
God, Isaiah 37:14-19.
(5.) Prophetic Prayer (of affirmation & declaration), taking our position as
sons. See 1Kings 17:1, Matthew 18:18.
(6.) Intercessory Prayer: Standing in the gap on behalf of others Ezekiel
22:30, John 17:20-26.
(7.) W arfare Prayer: It is a militant type of prayer – a prayer in which war is
waged against the devil and against his schemes. Matthew 18:18, Ephesians
6:12.

HINDRANCES TO PRAYER
The following are factors that may militate against prayers receiving prompt
answers from God:
(1.) W rong motive. Matthew 6:5, James 4:3, inasmuch as God is ready to
respond to our prayers yet he will not if our motive is self-driven or is in
contrast with God’s divine purpose.
(2.) Unbelief. Mark 11:22-23. Praying without having a strong trust on God
to bring your request to pass is useless. Unbelief cancels out your requests,
leaving God with nothing to address.

(3.) Sin. Sins raise barriers between God and us (Isaiah 59:1-2) and God is
of a purer eye than to behold iniquity. Once sin is found in our lives, God is
hindered from responding to us.

(4.) Praying outside God’s will, 1John 5:14. It is one thing to pray and
another thing to pray in line with God’s will. Once we pray in accordance
with His will, we are rest assured of an answer.

CULTIVATING A CONSISTENT PRAYER LIFE STYLE

Cultivating a consistent prayer life style is a thing every believer must strive
to do. A true son constantly desires to be in company of his Father. He

practically feels pain and goes sorrowful

when he has not spent quality time with
“I have so much to do that
God in prayer. This lifestyle may not be I shall spend the first three
automatic after salvation, but God expects hours in prayer.”
you to develop it with the help of His Spirit. - Martin Luther

Prayer is the most important aspect of our

Christian living. Even the devil knows this.
Unfortunately, this is the most neglected aspect in the Christian lives of
many. How then can we succeed?

Secrets to a Consistent Prayer Lifestyle;

(1.) Being P oor in spirit; (A humble spirit recognises that man is utterly
helpless on without God). It is clear that men take prayer serious as soon
as every other thing as failed. At such points it becomes natural to pray.
However, when a man has trained himself to continuously depend on God, a
consistent prayer lifestyle becomes a possibility.
(2.) Being Self-controlled. It has been observed that self (flesh) does not
like communing with God. It gives millions of excuses why we should
postpone praying each time we want to pray. Consequently, we must go
against this attitude of our flesh in order to maintain a consistent prayer
lifestyle, 1Peter 4:7, Matthew 26:36-41.

(3.) Being Conscious of the Purpose and Power of P rayer. This helps us
carve out time for prayer out of tight schedules. Most times people don’t
pray because they are busy. Jesus was a very busy Man yet, without a
robust prayer life, His ministry on earth would have failed,(Luke 5:15-16).In
this He left us a working example.

CONCLUSION: Prayer is the Christian’s native breath. It is the Christian’s

source of strength and means of communing with the Father. We cannot do
without it. As you take a decision to have a consistent prayer life He will
surely grant you grace.

STUDY 5

TOPIC: FELLOWSHIP
TEXT: ACTS 2:42

INTRODUCTION: Fellowship is the condition of mutual and reciprocal

dealings or communication between persons or group of persons.
Our Christian experience is not such that we should be on our own without
relating with other believers. There is no such thing as a functional
Christian life that isolates other brethren. The word fellowship (or “Koinonia”
in Greek) it is of two dimensions:

(A.) Fellowship with God

(B.) Fellowship with other Believers.

Fellowships such as these are with God the father, Son and Holy Spirit
along with other believers.

(A.) Fellowship with God; 1Corinthians 1:9, Mark 1:35.

This can also be referred to as quiet time. Quiet time is deliberate and an
unhurried spent in God’s presence and in quiet,(Mark1:35). Choose a
convenient place devoid of distractions for value-added quiet time. This is
most important and a primarily dimension in our calling, 1Corinthians 1:9.

Contents of Quiet Time

The sequence is as the Spirit leads, but usually the following sequence is
adopted;
(1) Short prayers and worship/praise to invite the Spirit and to prepare
your mind.
(2) Studying God’s word with a submissive heart (use a standardized
reading plan)
(3) Meditation
(4) Worship and praise (if so disposed)
(5) Prayers
THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 20
…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

(6) Hearing from God.

Benefits of Fellowship with God “The men who have most fully
illustrated Christ in their characters,
(1) It brings an opportunity to and have most powerfully affected
commune with our father the world for him, have been the men
who spend so much time with God as
(2) We receive Grace for our
to make it a notable feature in their
Christian living, Hebrews 4:16. lives …
(3) We are being transformed, To be little with God is to be little
for God.”
2Corinthians 3:18.
- E. M Bounds

Achieving a Successful Quiet Time

A quiet time will not just happen until we have -
 developed a definite plan for it.
 included Quiet Time in our personal to-do-list.
 identified a time and a place where are not likely to be disturbed. The
“where” and a “when” questions for quiet time must be resolved.

(B.) Fellowship with Other Christians Hebrews 10:25.

As we run this race, we need to share the experiences, encouragement and
exhortations of fellow Christians to keep going. It is for the mutual good and
upliftment of one another. Our fellowship with other believers should be
marked with the sharing of God’s word, Acts 13:15.

CONSTITUENTS OF CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP

1. Love and Acceptance: Agape love involves seeking the good of another. It
may involve giving reproof, encouragement, instruction or offering comfort.
Whatever is the means of expression, the attitude conveyed is one of value
and respect for the other individual above self. This requires tolerance and
understanding, not prejudice and disinterest.

2. Honesty and Humility: There must be honestly, humility, and openness.

Selflessness, humility and a true servant’s heart are crucial factors of
Christian fellowship. Philippians 2:3.

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 21

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

3. Concerns and Restoration: The word of God according to Galatians 6:1-

2 is very clear, “Brethren if a man is caught in any trespass, you who are
spiritual, restore such as one in a spirit of gentleness… bear one another’s
burden and thus fulfil the law of Christ.” When other Christians stray,
wander away or simply fail to keep God’s directives, our primary duty
should be to help them come back on course. But we can’t do this if we are
silent about our needs and dead to the cries of those around us.

4. Encouragement and Availability: Some fellowships easily become places

for criticizing and demoralizing of human spirit. But the bible declares that
fellowship should be made up of believers who “Stimulate one another to
love & good deeds.”

CONCLUSION: Fellowship (with God and other believers) should be given

priority in our Christian living and experience.

MEMORY VERSE: Acts 2:42, They devoted themselves to the Apostles’

teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer (NIV).

QUESTIONS/ASSIGNMENTS:
1. What are the two kinds or dimensions of fellowship?
2. Write at least five consequences of not doing or observing any fellowship. Submit
to your Bible study Leader in your next Bible Study Class.
3. Should I keep going to fellowship and doing my quiet time even when my
Leaders do not? Prove your answer.

STUDY 6

TOPIC: CONSECRATION
TEXT: LEVITICUS 20:7

INTRODUCTION: Starting from the Old Testament, God had instructed that
vessels meant to be used for His service must be consecrated. This
consecration distinguishes his vessels from every other vessel elsewhere.
What is consecration? The word consecration is the noun form of the verb
“Consecrate,” which means to set apart for a sacred or holy use. For the
purpose of this study, the word consecration would refer to setting ourselves
apart to God.
IMPORTANCE OF CONSECRATION
(1.) It is a prerequisite to Holy Living. Leviticus 20:7, Hebrews 1:9. For
any man to holy, that man must deliberately set himself apart to please God
even in this world full of sin.
(2.) It is the standard by God for his vessels. God does not admit rivalry.
If He must use a vessel then vessels must be for Him alone. He will not want
to share it with anybody or anything.
(3.) It is a compelling reason for fresh anointing. Whenever God sees a
vessel consecrated unto Him (i.e set apart) He cherishes it. It prompts Him
to release Himself over such a vessel seeing that the vessel is qualified for
His use. Hebrew 1:9.

HOW CAN ONE BE CONSECRATED?

Consecration in our context is NOT all about rules and regulations. It is
NOT what a man confers unto another but something a man deliberately
decides to do (i.e setting himself apart to God). Below is how it can be done.

(1.) By taking some Godly decisions that foster a well guided Christian life.
Daniel 1:1-12.

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 23

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

(2.) By submitting to the Lordship of Christ

“Consecration is only
through the person of His spirit. This
possible when we give up
implies one giving himself over to be used of our will about
everything.”
God Acts 20:22-24, 21:12-14.
- F.B. Meyer
(3.) By living a life that is directed by God
via His word, Psalm 119:105.

IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT CONSECRATION.

(1.) A man consecrated is a man of separated. This does not imply living an
isolated life. His relationship with others does not determine his life and
lifestyle but relationship with God, 2Corinthians 6:14-18, Acts 20:22-24.

(2.) A consecrated man exhibits self-discipline as a Christian character. It

will take self-discipline for him to be able to live up to the callings of his
consecration. 1Corinthians 9:26 & 27.

(3.) He is a man of fasting.

CONCLUSION: God is in need of men and women who will deliberately set
themselves apart to please Him, come what may. May God grant you grace
even as you take some Godly decisions today.

MEMORY VERSE: Leviticus 20:7 ”Consecrate yourselves and be holy

because I am the Lord your God”(NIV)

STUDY 7

TOPIC: TEMPTATION
TEXT: JAM ES 1:13-15.

INTRODUCTION; As soon as any man comes to the knowledge of Jesus

Christ, spiritually speaking, he starts a race (Heavenly Race.) The race is
full of obstacles, discouragements and hindrances all targeted at distracting
the runner. Knowing this scheme of the evil one prepares us to be able to
overcome temptation.
What is temptation? Temptations are the evil desires from the evil one
working through the human flesh for the purpose of drawing us away from
God.

BASIC THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT TEMPTATIONS

(1.) God tempts no one, James 1:13. The source temptation CAN never be
from God.

(2.) Temptations are NOT sins but they lead to sin, James 1:14-15.

(3.) Temptations CAN be overcome, Genesis 4:6, Mathew 26:41.

Temptations often come with such pressure that seems to say “YOU
CANNOT OVERCOME ME,” but there is never a man that overcame it
and died as a result. Note that its first
attempt would be to break your
resistance, strength and then overtake “… The devil doesn’t come
dressed in a red cape and
you. point horns. He comes as
everything you’ve ever
wished for…”
(4.) Everyone will at one time or the other
- Tucker Max,
be tempted, James 1:14, Matthew 18:7.
Temptation is not conditional “if” it is a

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 26

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

certainty; it is only a matter of “when.”

When we know this, it will not take us unaware because we know that it
will come, it will not be like a strangle thing you will see it as just an
unavoidable hurdle to be jumped in our Christian experience .

(5.) Every temptation that comes to us is within our ability to overcome:

whenever we fall into temptation, it is not because it is beyond God’s
given grace in us to overcome. Whenever we fail to appropriate grace
when tempted we stand a chance of falling (1Corinthians 10:13).

HOW CAN WE OVERCOME TEMPTATION?

(1.) By W atching and P raying. Watching involves being alert or preparing
our minds for action while praying involves depending on God for help.
Matthew 26:40-41, 1Peter 5:8.
It takes a firm determination on our part. We make up our mind that no
matter the pressure, we will not yield or consent. Genesis 39 Vs, Proverbs
1:10, Daniel 1:9.
(2.) Flee! 2Timothy 2:22, 1Corinthians 6:18, 1Corinthians 10:12.
There is no need to play around what could lead to sin with the assumption
that you are strong. Every man stands a chance of falling into temptation
irrespective of assumed spiritual height. See David in 2Samuel 11 Vs 14.
(3.) Cut it off! Mark 9:42-47.
(4.) Look up to Jesus; Hebrew 2:18, 12, 4:15.

MECHANISM OF TEMPTATION
The devil plants the evil desire into the flesh of a believer with the aim that
he or she should yield to such desires. They can come inform of;
a) an enticement
b) a drawing away
c) a conception of evil desires
d) a yielding

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 27

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

CONCLUSION: Temptation is common to men. It is within the limit of grace

given to mankind by Christ Jesus. It always compels us to take action
immediately to avoid a falling away. Seeing that this is an unavoidable
intermittent hurdle in our Christian experience, May God grant you help as
you decide not to yield to those temptations that appear to be peculiar to
you, amen.

MEMORY VERSE: 1Corinthians 10:13, There hath no tempta tion taken you
but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to
be tempted above tha t ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a
way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

STUDY 8
TOPIC: HOLY SPIRIT
TEXT: JOHN 16:7-14

INTRODUCTION: The Holy Spirit is the third Person in the trinity. He is

God, he is not just power, air or a force as some people insinuate. He is a
person even though we cannot see him with human eyes. If we must live a
successful Christian life we cannot do without Him just as our master Jesus
declared. “It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go the
counsellor will not come to you.”

There are three dimensions in our relationship with the Holy Spirit;
1. He is with us. This is when the Holy Spirit is involved in the believer’s
daily life. When He is invited to participate in everything we do.
2. He is in us. This is when He dwells within our spirit man.
3. He is upon us. It is an operational spiritual status when the Holy
Spirit ‘rests’ upon a believer, enabling him to fulfil kingdom mandate.

THE ROLES OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

When our master emphasized that it is for our good that He was to leave the
earth so that He could send us the Holy Spirit, it simply implies that there
are distinct and important roles He is to render in the lives of believers when
he comes.

1. He is our Teacher: He teaches beyond the perception of our intellect or

our natural ability to understand, John14:26. He teaches us not only the
Bible, he can also teach any good things we desire to know, revealing the
mind of the Father to us.

2. He Reminds us of the W ord of Christ: It is disastrous for a Christian to

quench the Spirit because such a person is on the road to destruction. The

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 29

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

spiritually ignorant has none to remind him of the standard of God’s word.
John 14:26b.

3. Exercising Conviction: It is one of the roles of the Holy Spirit to convict

human beings with God’s word (i.e. to convince them beyond any doubt or
argument). He convicts believers with the word when they are deviating and
also convicts unbelievers before they can have a genuine repentance (Note:
there can’t be genuine repentance without conviction of sin) John 16:8, Acts
2:37.

4. Empowers the Believer for Service: Acts 1:8, Luke 24:47-49. Evidence
of Spiritual empowerment manifests as boldness, wisdom etc. See Acts 4:31.

5. Guides the Believer: We cannot navigate through the mysteries of our

world and much less, the Heavens due our human limitations. Many things
are still mysteries to us and we would definitely get lost if we are not
guided. The Holy Spirit is the compass we need to guide us to the reality of
these mysteries. See John 16:13, Romans 8:14.

6. Revelation: An intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit at times reveals

things yet to happen to the person. See John 16:13-15, Acts 10:9-21.

THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT THE SPIRIT

1. He is Holy, and hence, He does not operate in an unholy atmosphere.
2. He is the Spirit of God: therefore, He cannot lead or direct a believer
contrary to God’s word.
3. He is a gentle and peaceful Spirit: he cannot be associated with
violence.

NB: Any claim of acting under the direction of the Spirit by a believer, which
does not conform to the above facts is false.

BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

When one accepts Christ as Lord and Saviour, the Holy Spirit is deposited in
such a man’s life, (Ephesians 1:13-14) to lead and direct the believer. Yet,

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 30

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

there is another phase of relationship with him which can be referred to as

baptism of the Holy Spirit, or being filled with the Holy Spirit or being
clothed with power. Acts 1:8, Luke 24:49, Acts 8:14-17, 19:1-2. It is God’s
desire that every believer is baptised in the Spirit with the evidence of
speaking in tongue.

Steps to baptism of the Spirit;

1. Being born again Acts 2:28, Acts 19:1-2.
2. Thirsting: this involves a craving to be filled by the spirit
3. Receiving by faith.

GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Concerning spiritual gifts, we should not be ignorant. Everyone baptised in
the Spirit has at least one (1) gift of the Spirit. These gifts are given to us for
edification, strengthening, and building of Christ’s body. There are nine (9)
listed gifts of the Holy Spirit according to 1Corinthians 12:4-11.

1. Word of wisdom -
2. Word of knowledge
3. Faith
4. Gifts of healing
5. Working of Miracle
6. Prophecy
7. Discerning of Spirits
8. Divers kinds of Tongues
9. Interpretation of Tongues.

These same gifts are also classified according to their mode of operation
into;
1. Revelation gifts. These include word of wisdom, word of knowledge
and discerning of spirit.
2. Power gifts. These include faith, Healing and Miracles.
3. Vocal gifts. These include speaking in tongues, interpretation of
tongues and prophecy.

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 31

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

Purpose of these gifts in the life of a believer is to build up the body of

Christ. 1 Cor 14:1-3

MINISTERIAL OFFICES
God calls individuals to occupy the various ministry offices for the work of
the ministry. These offices have been ordained by God to bring a balance in
Church and this is vitally important for effectiveness. The ultimate goals of
all ministry offices are for:

i The perfecting of the saints

ii. Edifying the body of Christ

iii. Unifying men in faith and knowledge

iv. Perfecting the Church in Christ

v. Bringing men to maturity in Christ.

All these can be seen in Ephesians 4:12-13. These offices are called the
fivefold ministry offices as seen in Ephesians 4:11 and they are: Prophets,
Pastors, Evangelists, Teachers and Apostles.

FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

These are the evidence or the trait that all those that possess the Holy Spirit
in exhibits naturally. There are outline in Galatians 5:22-23; Love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, M eekness,
temperance. They are indivisible fruit (and not fruits). there is no holy spirit
what them.

CONCLUSION; If the church must be what it should be, the Holy Spirit
must not be grieved but should be allowed to have His way. For anyone to
live a victorious Christian life, he must maintain a good relationship with
the Spirit by submitting to his leadership and counsel.

MEMORY VERSE: John16:7-But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I
am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I
go, I will send Him to you (NIV)

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 32

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

NB: just as every other study in this book, this is a basic summary of the
person of the Holy Spirit. In fact, no book, no matter how voluminous, would
be sufficient to contain all about the Holy Spirit. You are strongly
encouraged to get the following books and read for a broader explanation of
who the Holy Spirit is;

1. Good Morning Holy Spirit - Binny Hinn

2. Holy Spirit my senior partner - Pastor Youngee Chuo
3. Holy Spirit my Best Friend - Dr. Pamela Eze-Uzoamaka
4. How you can led by the Holy Spirit - Kenneth E. Haggin

This is because the Holy Spirit is a key subject in Christianity and He is the
third person of God.
Despite all, read more about him in your bible to get the best definition of
who he is.

1. Who is the Holy Spirit?

2. Why did the God send the Holy Spirit?

STUDY 9

TOPIC: W ITNESSING & SOUL W INNING.

TEXT: ROMANS 1:16.

INTRODUCTION: The advancement of the kingdom of God on earth is the

heart beat of God and should be that of every believer. We cannot talk about
advancing his kingdom without talking about witnessing and soul winning.

Importance of Soul W inning/Witnessing

1. It is an instruction from our Lord and master Jesus Christ often
referred to as the Great Commission, Mathew 28:18-20.
2. It serves to advance Gods kingdom on earth…
3. It is a means of testifying to our faith or bearing witness John 1:1-4,
Acts 4:19-20.

What M otivates a Soul W inner

1. Understanding that it is not God’s purpose that any man will perish, John
3:16, 2Peter 3:9. It is a passion for souls that burns the heart until action is
taken
2. Knowing the terror of God. 2Corinthians 5:11, Luke 3:7-10
3. Appreciating the value God has placed on souls. Matthew 16:26, John
3:16.
4. Rewards for soul winning. Daniel 2:3, 1Thessalonians 2:19, Philippians
4:1.
5. Commitment to the God-given mandate, relying on the word, John 16:1.

Hindrances to Witnessing/Soul W inning

1. Timidity: lack of boldness 2Timothy 1:7, Acts 4:31
2. Procrastination: 2Timothy 4:2.
3. Lack of passion for the lost. Luke 15:1-2, Matthew 9:36-37.
4. Lack of interest in the expansion of God’s kingdom. Matthew 6:10,
2Corinthians 5:18.
THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 34
…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

THE M ESSAGE OF A SOUL W INNER

a. Winning a soul for Jesus is not the same thing as chasing after men
to increase the numerical strength of fellowship groups or church. The
message should be Christ centred not centred on ministerial mandate
or church doctrines.
b. It should centre on helping people to be identified with the finished
work of Jesus Christ and not dishing out rules and regulations (dos
and don’ts) for when they identify with the master he will handle those
things. Luke 19:8.
c. It is NOT a message of condemnation or rejection but the GOOD
NEWS.
d. It is a partnership with God.

SECRETS OF SUCCESSFUL SOUL W INNING

1. Identifying the listener and embracing his world in order to gain
access into his soul. 1Corinthain 9:19-23. Acts 17:22-23.
2. Having the right words; Acts 2:37, Luke 3:9-10, Isaiah 50.
3. Convicting power; this can be got on the knees. Every successful soul
winner must have a heart that weeps for sinners to be saved,
1Thesselonians 1:5, Romans 10:1.
4. Praying a commitment prayer at conviction (i.e. leading the person to
Christ).

CONCLUSION; It is not the plan of God that a sinner should die in his
sin but that he should repent and turn back to God. In this generation
full of sin, there is the need for us to arise with the gospel for it is the
power of God unto salvation.

MEMORY VERSE; And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to
himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

TOPIC: ETERNAL JUDGEMENT

TEXT: ROMANS 2:16

INTRODUCTION: Whether a believer or an unbeliever, all must be judged

after death. Unbelievers There are many judgment and they differ as to
TIME, PLACE AND PURPOSE of judgement. The common “denominator”
in them is that Christ is the JUDGE, John 5:22, Romans 2:16. However,
we shall consider believers judgment.

A. JUDGMENT OF BELIEVER’S SIN (JOHN 5:24, 16:11, EPH 2:1 -2)

a. When? On the Cross of Calvary, Luke 23:13, John 13:14, 1Peter
2:24, John 17:4.
b. Why? Because Christ;
i. Died as a substitute and our sins are kept far off. Psalm
103:12, Hebrews 1:3. The death we are to die as wages of our
sin he willingly chose to die on our behalf.
ii. Blotted our sins, Colossians 2:14-16, once for all. Hebrews
9:26 and they are remembered no more.
iii. Was made sin for us 2Corinthians 5:21 and equally a curse
for us Galatians 3:13. i.e. our iniquities was put on him who
knew no sin that we might become the righteousness of God.

RESULT OF CHRIST WORK

1. No condemnation for the believer. Romans 8:1, his past sins and done
away with and cannot be used to judge his present life (New Life).
2. Salvation for believer because he is;
i. Dead to sin, Romans 6:1-6.
ii. Alive to God in righteousness.

B. JUDGMENT OF BELIEVER’S SELF (1 CORINTHIANS 11:31)

THE YOUNG ANGLICAN CRUSADERS (YAC), NSUKKA DIOCESE 37

…and Continueth Therein; [BASIC STUDIES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING]

1. By the believer so that he confesses and forsakes his sins, Isaiah 6:5,
1John 1:9, Psalm 55:17.
2. Through the practice of abnegation which is replacing self with Christ,
Galatians 2:20, John 3:30, 1Corinthians 9:27, Colossians 3:4. This
should be deliberately done by the believer even God will not do it for
anybody.
3. By taking up the cross after denying self, Romans 7:18, Mark 8:34-38.
This cross is the cross of total and continual obedience. It is not a half
hazard or an obedience that have stopping point as observed in so
many lives. Therefore to judge self is to be Christ conscious, Christ
controlled.

C. JUDGMENT OF BELIEVER’S W ORKS

Read Romans 14:10, 2Corinthians 5:10. This will happen at the judgment
seat of Christ. Here we shall account for our works. Romans 14:10, and
some will suffer loss of rewards (but not their salvation) 1Corintian 3:11-
15.
BELIEVERS CROWNS/REWARDS
1. Crown of Life: for overcomers. James 1:12, Revelation 2:10.
2. Crown of Righteousness: for the successful runners and those eagerly
expecting the rapture. 2Timothy 4:8.
3. Crown of Glory: for Godly Leaders. 1Peter 5:4.
4. Crown of Incorruption: 1Corinthians 9:25.
5. Crown of Joy: for soul winners. Philippians 4:1, 1Thessalonians 2:9.

tha t every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he
hath done, whether it be good or bad (2Corinthians 5:10).

STUDY 11

TOPIC: RESURRECTION FROM THE DEAD

TEXT: 1CORINTHIANS 15:35-52

INTRODUCTION: The blessed Hope of the believer is that if he dies, his

body shall be raised at Christ’s appearing because death has been
conquered through the cross, (Job 19:25-27, Daniel 12:2, 1Corinthians
15:35-52, 1Thessalonians 4:13-16).

What is resurrection? The word resurrection means coming back to life

after death.

Who can be resurrected?

a. The Just (Luke 14:14)
b. Saints of God (Mathew 22:32);

The SAINTS MILITANT stands for believers who are still alive where as the
SAINTS TRIUMPHANT stands for believers who have fallen asleep (or those
who died in Christ).

HOW ARE THE DEAD RAISED (1CORINTHIANS 15:35-54)

1. In Glory (1Corinthians 15:40-42), in Power and in Incorruption
(1Corinthians 15:44, 53-54).
2. In the spiritual body 1Corinthians 14:44, not of flesh and blood but
prepared by God 1Corinthians 16:50.
3. Sown natural but raised spiritual.

STEPS TO ATTAINING RESURRECTION (PHILIPPIANS 3:10)

1. Knowing him: This is the first step. It involves first, an encounter
with Jesus and a continued panting after Him, seeking to know Him
deeper and walking closely with Him, John 3:7, Psalm 42:1-2.
2. Knowing the power of His resurrection: You must also be conscious
of the power of His resurrection such that the fear of death which

causes many to derail and stumble becomes a no issue to you,

Revelation 12:11.
3. Partaking in the Fellowship of His sufferings: Jesus said if we
endure with him we will also live with. We must come to a point in our
relationship with him that suffering for his name becomes a kind of
fellowship with him Acts 5:41.
4. Conformity to his death: One thing about his death is that he held
strongly to obeying his father even unto death, so we must
deliberately stick to him come what may, Luke 22:43.There is also a
dying to do in our faith walk. Flesh or self is subdued and dies,
(1Corinthians15:31). The Holy Spirit is given a free way to work out
God’s purpose in us.

APPLICATION FOR NOW

In view of this blessed hope what are we to do now?
1. We are to set our hearts on things above, Colossian 3:1-2.
2. We are to yield our bodies to righteous living, Romans 6:11-13.
3. We occupy the place of authority as Christ, Ephesians 1:9, 2:5.
4. We are to keep ourselves pure, 1John 3:1-3, Titus 2:11-13, 2Peter
3:10-12.

CONCLUSION; As longs as we keep focused to this mysterious, glorious and

powerful blessed hope in Christ, His grace will always be there to help us in
the race.

we shall all be changed, 1Corinthians 15:51.
