Revision 4 Polygons

1. Find x

(Ans: x = 1100)

2. Find the number of sides of a regular polygon whose each exterior

angle has a measure of 45°. (Ans: 8)

3. Find x in the following figures.

(Ans: a) x = 1100, b) x = 500)

4. Find the measure of each exterior angle of a regular

polygon of (i) 9 sides (ii) 15 sides (Ans: 400, 240)

5. How many sides does a regular polygon have if the measure

of an exterior angle is 24°? (Ans 15)

6. How many sides does a regular polygon have if each of its

interior angles is 165°? (Ans 24)

7. (a) Is it possible to have a regular polygon with measure

of each exterior angle as 22°? (No, Since 22 is not a divisor of 360)

(b) Can it be an interior angle of a regular polygon? Why?
(No, because each exterior angle is 180° – 22° = 158°, which is not a
divisor of 360°)

8. (a) What is the minimum interior angle possible for a

regular polygon? Why?

(Ans:The equilateral triangle being a regular polygon of 3 sides has

the least measure of an interior angle = 60°. )

(b) What is the maximum exterior angle possible for a

regular polygon?

(Ans: By (a), we can see that the greatest exterior angle is 120°.)

9. The measures of two adjacent angles of a parallelogram are in the

ratio 3 : 2. Find the measure of each of the angles of the parallelogram.

(Ans: 1080, 720)

10. Two adjacent angles of a parallelogram have equal measure. Find the
measure of each of the angles of the parallelogram. (Ans: 900)

11. State whether True or False.

(a) All rectangles are squares (b) All rhombuses are parallelograms

(c) All squares are rhombuses and also rectangles

(d) All squares are not parallelograms.

(e) All kites are rhombuses. (f) All rhombuses are kites.

(g) All parallelograms are trapeziums. (h) All squares are trapeziums

(Ans: F, T, T, F, F, T, T, T)

12. ∠A = 2∠D in the parallelogram ABCD. Find the measures

of ∠A, ∠B, ∠C, and ∠D.

13. ABCD is a parallelogram. If ∠DAB = 2x and ∠ABC = 3x, find the

measures of all four angles.

14. ABCD is a rhombus with each side measuring 15 units and the

diagonal AC measuring 24 units. Calculate the measure of

diagonal BD.

∠DCO = 135°. What are the
measures of ∠1 and ∠2?

12. From the figure shown,

calculate the four angles of the

quadrilateral ABCD. .

13. The angles of a quadrilateral are in the ratio 2 : 4 : 5 : 7. Find all

the angles.

14. The lengths of the diagonals of a Rhombus are 12 cm and 16 cm.

Find the side of the rhombus.
