LA FORUM

PROPOSAL FOR COLLABORATION

La Forum GB organises three types of public speaking events, i.e., Model United Nations,
Parliamentary Debates and Parliament Sessions. The detailed explanation is provided below:

1. Model United Nations (MUN)


MUN is a simulation of the General Bodies of United Nations in sessions with all due
Rules of Procedure (ROP) to be followed for the commencement of sessions. ROP is
drafted taking the United Nations System Code of Conduct into consideration.
Generally, a MUN consist of 5 committees. Requirements for hosting a MUN are:
a. 5 rooms of capacity accommodating 40-50 students
b. Auditorium for closing and opening ceremony
c. Common area where lunch and high tea could be served
d. Judges are to be provided by us
e. Food and other logistics also are provided by us
f. A student organising committee is required (selected by the school management)
g. Event will go for three days

2. Parliamentary Debate (PD)


Each debating match will consist of two teams; one to propose the motion and one to
oppose it. The team proposing may be known as “The Proposition‟, “The
Affirmative” or “The Government”. The team opposing may be known as “The
Opposition‟ or “The Negative”. Teams will be designated as the Proposition or the
Opposition for each round of the competition. Each debate shall be adjudicated upon
by an adjudicator. Each debate shall be timed by a timekeeper. Requirements for
hosting a PD are:
a. Large number of rooms are required depending upon the number of teams (two
teams in a room)
b. Auditorium for closing and opening ceremony
c. Common area where lunch and high tea could be severed
d. Judges are to be provided by us
e. Food and other logistics also are provided by us

f. A student organising committee is required (selected by the school management)


g. Event will go for two days

3. Parliamentary Session
A Parliamentary Session is generally a simulation of parliament in session. Usually,
students are required to form parties and are required to form a resolution and pass it
as an act or legislation. Complete parliamentary procedure is to be followed. ROP of
Parliamentary Session is slightly different from an MUN. This is a small event with
only houses representing Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Requirements for hosting a
Parliamentary Session are
a. Only two rooms are required that can accommodate large number of participants
(about 80-100 in a room)
b. Auditorium for closing and opening ceremony
c. Common area where lunch and high tea could be severed
d. Judges are to be provided by us
e. Food and other logistics also are provided by us
f. A student organising committee is required (selected by the school management)
g. Event will go for a day to maximum two days

PLANS FOR COLLABORATION

We propose three plans for collaboration. The details are as follows:

1. The School and La Forum Co-Host:


The school contributes the amount with us. The event will be hosted in the name of
school but La Forum will be Title Sponsor of the Event. The school is required to
bring certain amount of delegation from outside. Advertisements and marketing for
the school will be done by us and the profits will be divided as per the sharing ratio of
the contribution.

2. The School becomes our Venue Partner:


Total contribution will be totally made by La Forum and school will be our Venue
partner. Event will be hosted in the name of the company and the school can charge

for all the amenities and logistic support. The amount of charge is to be discussed
between the management of the school and La Forum.

3. La Forum will act as Silent Host


Total amount of contribution is made by La Forum but the event is to be conducted in
the name of School. Total Advertisements and marketing will be done for the School.
School will get whole publishing rights for the events. The profits or losses are to be
considered by La Forum.

The dates of the conference are to be discussed and decided by the school management. The
School is required to form a public speaking society with two convenors leading the society
for smooth conduct of the event. The school may wish to keep the society running even after
the event to support the growth of Public Speaking Culture among the students.

Terms and Conditions of the hosting of the event can be discussed by the management of
both of the schools and La Forum. The company bounds no educational institution to enter
into a contract for specific performance or for a time duration. A Memorandum of
Understating (MOU) need to be signed by both, the school and La Forum on the Terms and
Conditions discussed and decided to host the event.
