DAILY LESSON LOG OF 11/12SP-IV-e-4 (Week Five-Day Four)

School Grade Level Grade 11

Teacher Learning Statistics and Probability
Area
Teaching Date and Time Quarter Third
Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the objectives, necessary
procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises and remedial activities may be done for
OBJECTIVES developing content knowledge and competencies. These are assessed using Formative Assessment Strategies. Valuing
objectives support the learning of content and competencies and enable children to find significance and joy in learning
the lessons. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of tests of hypotheses on the
population proportion.
Performance The learner is able to perform appropriate tests of hypotheses involving the population
Standards proportion to make inferences in real life problems in different discipline.
Learning Competency: indentifies the rejection region for a given level of significance when the
Central Limit Theorem is to be used (M11/12SP-IV-e-4)
Learning Objectives:
Learning 1. recall the z-score in normal distribution
Competencies/ 2. indentifies the rejection region for a given level of significance when the Central Limit
Objectives Theorem is to be used
3. determine the critical value using the areas under the normal curve table
4. demonstrate neatness in illustrating the rejection region

These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that pupils/students will learn
well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the pupils/ students which you can infer from formative
PROCEDURES assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing pupils/students with multiple ways to learn new
things, practice the learning, question their learning processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation
to their life experiences and previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step.
Recall: Find critical value for the test of significance in each of the given information.

Review previous 1.) One-tailed test, σ 2 is known, α = 0.05, n = 134

lesson or presenting 2.) Two-tailed test, σ 2 is known, α = 0.05, n = 145
the new lesson 3.) Two-tailed test, σ 2 is known, α = 0.01, n =160
4.) One-tailed test, σ 2 is known, α = 0.10, n = 270

Establishing a purpose
for the lesson
To Presenting Ask them to determine the ff. problem as:
a.) One-tailed (Right tailed or left tailed) or Two-tailed
b.) Alpha value
c.) Critical value
Example 1: It is believed that in the coming election, 65% of the voters in the province of
examples/ instances Pampanga will vote for the administration candidate for governor. Suppose 713 out of the 1 150
of the new lesson randomly selected voters indicate that they would vote for the administration candidate. At
0.10 level of significance, find out whether the percentage of voters for the administration
candidate is different from 65%

Example 2: A research conducted on a certain company last year showed that 25% of the
employees would rather drink coffee rather than soft drinks during break time. The
company has recently decided to give free coffee drink during break time. In the new

. Ask them to determine the following information in the given problem:

Ho: _____________
Ha: ____________
Sample size: _______
Number of elements in the sample: ______
α = ___________
1.) The principal of a certain high school claims that 85% of all the students is in favor of
the new school uniform. A Statistics teacher asked his students to verify the claim.

to conclude that the percentage of students who are in favor of the new uniform is
different from 85%?
2.) It is claimed that last year, 65% of the people believed that there was an improvement
in the country’s economy. Suppose this year, only 270 out of the 450 people randomly
selected believe that there is an improvement in the country’s economy. Does this
indicate that there is a decrease in the number of people who believe that there is an
improvement in the country’s economy? Use 0.05 significance level.

Evaluating Learning
A researcher claims that 75% of college students would rather spend their extra money for
mobile phone loads than cigarettes. Another researcher would like to verify this claim. She
randomly selected 400 college students. Two hundred ninety-six of these 400 student said
that they would rather spend their extra money on mobile phone loads than cigarettes. At
0.05 level of confidence, is there enough evidence to conclude that the percentage of
students who would rather spend their extra money for mobile phone loads than
cigarettes is different from 75%?

REMARKS
Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your students’ progress. What works? What else
REFLECTION needs to be done to help the pupils/students learn? Identify what help your instructional supervisors can provide for you
so when you meet them, you can ask them relevant questions.
