Invoke Allah with Dhal Jalali wal Ikram

Anas (‫ )رﺿﻲ اﷲ ﻋﻨﻪ‬reported: The Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said, “Al-idhdhu (‫[ )أﻟﻈﻮا‬persist (in invoking
Allaah)] or Constantly make du’a by saying”:

‫ام‬ َ ‫ﯾَﺎ َذا ْاﻟ َﺠ‬

ْ ‫ﻼ ِل َو‬
ِ ‫اﻹﻛ َﺮ‬
ِ

Ya Dhal-Jalali wal-Ikram

(O Possessor of Majesty and Honour)

[At-Tirmidhi 3524-3525. Al-Albani graded it sahih in As-Silsilah as-Sahihah, Hadith no 1536]

Al-idhdhu means invoke Allaah with this Du’aa persistently and profusely; say this statement
continuously in your Du’aa and when asking your Lord, the Exalted.

Al-Qurtubi said, “The meaning of ‘Al-idh-dhu’ is: Cling to saying that in du’a. Abu ‘Ubayd said: ‘Al-
Ildhadh is sticking to something and have zeal in it.’ And it is said: ‘Al-Ildhadh is earnest request.’”
