1.1 Define coefficient of coupling (k). What are the significance of
range 0 ≤ k ≤ 1?

1.2 Two identical coupled coils connected in series has an equivalent


inductance values of 0.084 H and 0.0354 H. find the values of L1,
L2, M and K. (Hint: L1=L2)

1.3 An ideal transformer connected to 80V supply has N 1= 10 turns,


and N2= 100 turns. What is the impedance referred to primary
side if a 1000Ωresistor is placed across the secondary? What is
the maximum power input?

1.4 For the circuit shown in figure (01), determine the coupling
coefficient K and the energy stored in the coupled inductor at t=1
second. The supply voltage is given by

2.1 Define the following terms:
a) transient response and
b) Natural and forced response.

2.2 What do you understand by time constant? What is time constant
of RL and RC circuit?

2.3 An inductor has a negligible resistance and an inductance of 200


mH and is connected in series with a 1 kΩ resistor to a 24 V, d.c.
supply, calculate;
a) the time constant of the circuit and the steady-state value of
the current flowing in the circuit
b) the current flowing in the circuit at a time equal to one time
constant
c) the voltage drop across the inductor at a time equal to two
time constants and
d) the voltage drop across the resistor after a time equal to three
time constants
2.4 In the network in figure (02), the switch was at position 1 for quite
long and the capacitor developed an initial charge of7𝑥10−4
coulombs. The switch is moved from position 1 to position 2 at
t=0. Determine the current i(t) for t> 0, when 𝜔 = 1000 𝑟𝑎𝑑/𝑠𝑒𝑐.

5.2 A step input of 10 V is switched on to a 50kΩ resistor in series with
a 500 pF capacitor. Calculate
a) the rise time of the capacitor voltage
b) the time for the capacitor to charge to 63.2 % of its maximum
voltage and
c) the time for the capacitor to be completely charged.
5.3 Sketch the output waveforms from a differentiating circuit when the
input is
a) sinewave
b) a square wave and
c) a triangular wave.
5.4 Sketch the output waveform low pass RC circuit when the input is
square wave forthe condition RC >> tp, RC = tp, and RC << tp. if tp
is time period of input wave.
