IMD164 SOCIAL MEDIA LITERACY

ASSESSMENT 2: Case Study on Information Agency & Social Media Use (40%)
Evaluations of Social Media Tools and Services
UPDATED March 2023
Instructions:
1. This is a group assessment (each group can consist of 3 to 4 members).
2. Choose any information agency that actively uses at least 3 types of social
media. (consult lecturer regarding organization FIRST to get approval before
proceeding)
3. Make a research about the organization and the social media that is used by the
organization based on The 7 Social Media Building Blocks (refer chapter 3).
4. Provide documentation (report) regarding the findings.
5. Report Content/Guidelines:
a. Introduction to information agency
b. List of social media platforms used by the agency (including brief analysis
of current profile (eg: No of followers, following, latest post, etc), provide
screenshot for each social media profile.
c. Evaluation of the social media used based on Seven functional blocks of
social media (advised to arrange information in table format)
d. Recommendation if any
e. Conclusion
f. References (APA cited), at least 3 sources.
g. Appendices
i. Information related to organization and services (pamphlet,
brochure, print screen of website/blog/social media profiles
6. Marks will be based on:
a. Report 30%
b. Presentation 10% (PowerPoint presentation or other acceptable
multimedia presentation format)
7. Report should be around 20 to 35 pages including attachment.
8. Originality of work is of UTMOST importance.
9. Submission is in printed/hardcopy format.
10. Submission on week 13.
11. OBSERVE date line given by lecturer.
