PRE-HEALTH PROFESSIONAL CONCENTRATION

The biology degree with a Pre-Health Professional concentration prepares students for admission to a
professional health program. These could include the following: dentistry, optometry, medicine,
pharmacy, physician assistant, physical therapy, and veterinary medicine.

Students majoring in biology must complete a minimum of 120 semester hours (SH) to graduate. This
includes satisfying the General Education (GE) course requirements, completing outlined areas of
foundation, breadth, and depth courses, and appropriate elective requirements. A minimum grade of C−
is required for all major requirements. Required major courses include 19 SH of foundation courses, 21
SH of breadth courses, and 18 SH of depth courses.
