Present Continuous
❖ Use
Use for future arrangements, i.e., trips,
timetabled plans or agreements between two
or more people.
❖ Structure
Affirmative: Subject + be + verb –ing.
Negative: Subject + be not + verb –ing.
Interrogative: Be + subject + verb –ing + ?
❖ Example: There’s going to be an audit in
the company tomorrow.
1. We’re getting audited tomorrow. Nos van
a auditar mañana.
❖ Example: You have made a dentist
appoint for next Monday.
2. I’m going to the dentist on Monday. Voy
a ir al odontólogo el lunes.

FUTURE FORMS
Be going to
❖ Use
We use it when we have already decided to do
something, or to make a prediction about the
future when we have evidence.
❖ Structure
Affirmative: Subject + be going to + base form.
Negative: Subject + be not going to + base
form.
Interrogative: Be + subject going to + base form

❖ Example: You have been planning your
next vacation for some time.
1. I’m going to go to Hawaii next summer. Voy
a ir a Hawaii el próximo verano.
❖ Example: You forgot to update the info of
a client in the data base.
2. My boss is going to get mad at me. Me jefe se

Will/Won’t
❖ Use
We use will/won’t for instant decisions,
promises, offers, future facts, predictions with
no evidence, and usually after the verb think.
❖ Structure
Affirmative: Subject + will + base form.
Negative: Subject + won’t + base form.
Interrogative: Will + subject + base form + ?
❖ Example: You just got home after work
and are going to get ready to have dinner.
1. I will wash my hands and will put on my
PJs. Me lavaré las manos y me pondré la
pijama.
Example: You’re mentioning a future political
fact.
The presidential elections will be in May. Las
