UNIT 8 - Meeting 1

I. DISCUSSION POINT:
AT HOME
Study the information in the inforgraphic.
Think about other things that need to be replaced.

IN CLASS:
Work in pairs, talking about when it is time to change ….
a. things in the kintchen
b. things in the bathroom
c. things in the bedroom
d. sports equipment
e. other things you may notice

II. VIDEO:
AT HOME:
Study 8 words in BEFORE YOU WATCH. Use each word in at least 1 sentence (write
on your notebook).
IN CLASS:
1. sts work in pairs, reading & correcting each other’s sentences.
2. Watch the video. Work in groups of four, discussing the questions in AFTER YOU
WATCH.

III. LISTENING 1:
AT HOME:
1. Study 8 words in VOCABULARY PREVIEW. Use each word in at least 1 sentence.
2. Listen and do exercise 8.1 (p.137) and exercise 8.1 (p.138).
IN CLASS:
1. Group discussion:
 Give the sts number 1,2,3. All the sts numbered 1 go to group 1, all the sts
numbered 2 go to Group 2, all the sts numbered 3 go to Group 3. Three big
groups discuss the following question.

What can we do differently now in these places thanks to technology?

- At home
 - In the classroom
- In the workplace

Work for 10 minutes, then break into smaller groups of 3 sts.

2. Find 2 friends who have got different numbers. Work for 10 minutes, each of you
sharing ideas that you have got from the big group about what can we do
differently now at home/in the classroom/in the workplace thanks to technology.

3. Some invividuals are invited to make a short report (1-2 minutes).
