Activities Week Programme

Dear Year 8 Students & Parents,

I am sure students are looking forward to an exciting Activities Week Programme!

This year a variety of Programmes are available for you to experience. Please remember that attendance is compulsory for the Activities Week
Programmes.

Expectations & Rules

Mobile Phones - No Mobile Phones are allowed during the camp. However an exception will be made during the travel time. Students will be allowed to
have their phone on the bus to listen to music/watch videos, but on arrival, their mobile phones will be collected by the staff of Outward Bound and sealed
in an envelope with their name written on it.

Their mobile phones will be handed back to them when they depart camp so they may make contact with parents to arrange pick-up times.

NOTE: Mobile phones and other devices are brought at the risk of the owner. ISH and Outward Bound have no responsibility for lost or damaged items.

Please read the following important information for Overnight Canoe Trip

Packlist (Part 1)

The expedition takes place at the end of June It can be quite cold, especially with wind and/or rain. All courses will involve getting wet at some point, so
please make sure that the students have plenty of spare, dry clothes to change into. It is best to dress in layers. A thin synthetic under layer, possibly an
intermediate layer, a fleece or wool sweater on top and a windproof jacket. We will provide all safety equipment needed for each activity.

Sex Matters Programme
Gender & Being Yourself Love & Relationships

In this workshop students learn about love and relationships and how our ideas about Making students aware of their own ideas on love and relationships and where those ideas
gender are related to both. . We give an introduction to gender, so the students understand come from and that this can (and may) differ from your classmates. We explain that
what gender means and are able to talk about gender in relation to love. We also discuss different perspectives can clash sometimes but that it is also ok that people differ in ideas
what our environment (parents, friends, religion, school, media) is teaching and showing us and convictions. During this workshop we also discuss what falling in love means and
about love and relationships. In this workshop students learn how their environment shapes students learn about attraction and freedom of choice. And that they are aware that falling
the way they feel about love and the choices they make in romantic relationships (for in love brings very different feelings and that this may differ for everyone.
