Building Positive Body Image: A Workshop by Pratisandhi Foundation

The Vivekananda School of Journalism and Mass Communication, in collaboration with the
Pratisandhi Foundation, orchestrated a transformative workshop titled "Building Positive Body
Image" on June 12, 2023, at 2:30 pm. This event was meticulously designed to foster self-
acceptance and empower attendees to embrace their unique qualities. Stuti skillfully moderated
the session, where Ms. Khushi Malhotra delved into the nuances of body positivity, encouraging
a constructive perspective on personal appearance and addressing individual insecurities.
Attendees actively participated, sharing their concerns. Ms. Priyaanshie Rathore continued the
discourse by exploring ways to maintain a positive body image. Engaging activities, including the
"Check Yourself Out" exercise, highlighted the beauty in each participant.
The presentation seamlessly transitioned into an interactive Q&A session, providing a platform
for valuable discussions. Beyond the event's immediate impact, the collaboration between
VSJMC and Pratisandhi Foundation created a judgment-free space for students to openly address
their fears and insecurities. Importantly, the funds raised prior to the workshop will contribute to
distributing essential goods and educational resources to Pratisandhi Foundation's beneficiaries—
children and young adults from marginalized backgrounds. The initiative aligns with the
foundation's broader Bridging Gaps Initiative, which aims to foster healthy and respectful social
and sexual relationships, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and compassionate world.
