Summary:
Paragraph 1:
There are 4 processes that happen to the brain during creative thinking. The 4 processes are
called working memory, abstraction, planning, and cognitive flexibility. “Working memory” is
responsible for short term memories and has a limited capacity. “Abstraction” is a thought
that is characterized by adaptability and flexibility. “Planning” is the process of thinking and
organizing activities needed to achieve a goal. “Cognitive flexibility” is the processes of when
you switch between two or more concepts in order to make creative thinking.
Paragraph 2:
There are a few areas in the brain that are responsible for creativity. The frontal cortex is
responsible for many of the functions of creative thinking, including short term memories.
White matter connects different areas of the brain and speeds the processes.
