UNIT 1– LEADERSHIP IN RECREATION
Overview:
Way back in the history of mankind leadership existed among the primitive people.
They made a remarkable discovery that enemies were successfully detected when they

emerged.
Leadership can only be effective if it understands its very important function at a
given time. The leader of today is not the leader of yesterday nor is he an exact forecast of
the recreation leader of tomorrow. The nature of recreation leadership alters with the
changing society.
