EW1 - STRUCTURAL CALCULATIONS

1. INTRODUCTION
The Empire Wind 1 project comprises the following main elements:

 54 off 15 MW wind turbine generators (WTG) mounted on foundations fixed to the seabed.
Monopiles (MP) have been selected as WTG foundations.
 66 kV infield cabling (Inter Array Cables (IAC)) connecting the WTGs to the Offshore Substation.
 One Power Export System per phase, consisting of:
 One Offshore Substation (OSS), which includes a topside structure and a piled jacket as
substructure.
 Two (2x50%) submarine export cable circuits, voltage level 230 kV.
 One Onshore Substation (ONS) at Gowanus, adapting the power quality according to the
grid code compliance requirements.
 Two HV cable circuits (Onshore Interconnection cables) connecting the Onshore Substation
to the transmission existing grid substation, Point of Interconnection (POI) at Gowanus.
 Operation and Maintenance Base and infrastructure at South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SBMT)
close to Gowanus POI.
 O&M personnel transfer and service vessel(s).
