EW1 - STRUCTURAL CALCULATIONS
1. INTRODUCTION
The Empire Wind 1 project comprises the following main elements:
54 off 15 MW wind turbine generators (WTG) mounted on foundations fixed to the seabed.
Monopiles (MP) have been selected as WTG foundations.
66 kV infield cabling (Inter Array Cables (IAC)) connecting the WTGs to the Offshore Substation.
One Power Export System per phase, consisting of:
One Offshore Substation (OSS), which includes a topside structure and a piled jacket as
substructure.
Two (2x50%) submarine export cable circuits, voltage level 230 kV.
One Onshore Substation (ONS) at Gowanus, adapting the power quality according to the
grid code compliance requirements.
Two HV cable circuits (Onshore Interconnection cables) connecting the Onshore Substation
to the transmission existing grid substation, Point of Interconnection (POI) at Gowanus.
Operation and Maintenance Base and infrastructure at South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SBMT)
close to Gowanus POI.
O&M personnel transfer and service vessel(s).
