This study examines Canlite-liquid and Probase-liquid as non-traditional chemical stabilizers for Laterite soil.
Tests show improved physical properties, liquid limit, and unconfined compressive strength (UCS) with added
Canlite and Probase. The strength enhancement depends on stabilizer type, additive quantity, and curing time,
with Probase proving more effective in strengthening Laterite compared to Canlite.

The research focuses on using Probase soil stabilizers for road construction in rural areas of
Malaysia with soft soils. Various tests will be conducted to assess the physical and mechanical
properties of the stabilized soils. The goal is to determine if Probase stabilizers can make roads
more durable, cost-effective, and weather-resistant, addressing issues like rutting, potholes,
dust, and mud.

The passage underscores the importance of quality roads for economic development, citing a Sri
Lankan study highlighting the swift impact of road infrastructure on poverty reduction. It
addresses challenges in developing nations like India, where economic constraints hinder paved
road construction in rural areas. The report introduces Probase soil stabilizers as non-traditional
techniques to stabilize and harden soil roads, aiming to reduce costs, ensure all-weather
functionality, and offer environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional road materials.

The research investigates the use of PROBASE (SH-85 and TX-85) stabilizers on black cotton soils
from Kitgum-Orom Road in Northern Uganda. The soils, known for their expansive nature, pose
challenges for road construction due to shrinkage and swelling. Physical and mechanical
analyses reveal high plasticity, making the soil unsuitable for subgrade construction.
Stabilization with PROBASE shows limited improvement, with lime performing better in certain
aspects. Chemical analysis indicates weaknesses in the soil. Overall, the study concludes that
PROBASE is not recommended as a suitable stabilizer based on standard criteria for road
construction

The abstract emphasizes the significance of new roads for improving the quality of life in rural
Malaysia, acknowledging the challenges of construction in such areas. It highlights the
environmental impact and inefficiency of road building in rural settings. The paper advocates for
the adoption of soil stabilization technology to enhance local soils in road construction,
particularly in regions with low-volume traffic. The focus is on discussing soil stabilization
techniques for both dry and wet conditions, aiming to convince field engineers of their positive
impact and effective adoption.

The paper investigates the effectiveness of non-traditional polymer emulsions,

Canlite and Probase, as soil stabilizers for laterite soil. Through a testing
program, the study examines basic soil properties, compaction characteristics,
and compares the strength of laterite soil treated with Canlite and Probase.
Laboratory results indicate that both polymer emulsions enhance physical
properties, liquid limit, and unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of laterite
soil. The compressive strength variations depend on the type of stabilizer,
quantity of additives, and curing time, with Probase generally demonstrating
improved strength in laterite soil.
The study introduces a new organic polymer soil stabilizer, STW, developed to address the erosion vulnerability
of clayey slope topsoil. Laboratory tests demonstrate that STW significantly improves unconfined compressive
strength, shear strength, water stability, and erosion resistance. The strength increases with curing time, with
notable changes in the first 24 hours. Field tests confirm the effectiveness of STW in reducing soil loss,
enhancing erosion resistance, and promoting vegetation growth. The technique is recommended for
widespread use in protecting clay slope topsoil.
