F5 EHS Leadership Behaviour Guideline
F5 EHS Leadership Behaviour Guideline
F5 EHS Leadership Behaviour Guideline
Introduction
In 2024, the objective is around setting 3 EHS Leadership behaviours (ELBs)– just as we have done
in the past. This should be completed by anyone that has direct reports or that is in an influential
leadership position. These people will be expected to nominate at least 2 work related behaviours,
and 1 personal. It is also possible to nominate 3 work related behaviours if that is preferred. As in
the past, we expect that the Leadership Behaviours are visible, active and courageous.
While it is not mandatory to use EHS360 to manage ELBs, a process is available to those that wish
to use the functionality specifically designed for ELBs.
This guideline has been prepared to assist in the process of setting and maintaining ELBs, providing
guidelines no matter which system you use.
The instructions at the end of this document, are however specific to those that wish to use EHS360
as a tool to manage their ELBs.
• Be easily visible to those who you are providing EHS Leadership to – this group may be
wider than your direct reports. Behaviours that are conducted out of work time can still be
valid provided that they are communicated to those who you are providing EHS Leadership
to.
• Be regular and/or on-going behaviours e.g. giving a presentation / message only once a
quarter would not be seen to meet this criterion
• To the extent possible, include a behaviour that shows leadership in each of the
Environment, Health (either Occupational Health or Health & Well-Being) and Safety areas.
• Not be part of your regular tasks e.g. conducting verifications for a critical control when you
are already the critical control owner.
An initial review (by an appropriate EHS Lead Team Member) is recommended to be undertaken in
Q1 to ensure that the behaviours entered meet the criteria above.

Then in Q2, Q3, and Q4 further reviews will be undertaken to ensure that adequate and ongoing
progress is being made on the agreed behaviours.
Should you choose an alternate method to report the leadership behaviours ensure you are able to
show some form of process and an audit trail. Leaders are encouraged to use the list in appendix A
to select their leadership behaviours.
