From the Director’s Desk

“Learning gives creativity, creativity leads to thinking, thinking provides knowledge, and
knowledge makes you great.“
At Delhi Public School-Bopal, we pride ourselves on being more than just a school. We are a
community of children, young as well as experienced people, educators and families who all
play special and unique roles in making DPS the amazing place that it is.
The purpose of education is not just to produce academicians but also to develop humane
and sensitive citizens. A congenial environment for learning is the need of the hour while
making sure that children have enough opportunities to develop sound work, social habits
and interpersonal skills. Academic excellence with character and personality development is
our ultimate goal.
The well chalked out academic and co-curricular programme enables the students to attain
their full potential to develop sound work habits. We give our students wings of ambition, so
that they can soar like falcons to touch the skies and endeavor to make them global citizens
who can look beyond geographical boundaries and promote a culture of peace and universal
brotherhood.
May we continue to give our students strong roots like the Banyan Tree and stronger wings
to conquer the world!!
Warm regards
Ms. Vandna Joshi
From the Principal’s Desk

“Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardour and attended to with
diligence” – Abigail Adams

At this unique institution, we hone the academic skills, fine-tune the aesthetic senses and work
towards building a holistic culture that values the individuality of each pupil, helping them
realize their innate potential.
Our vision is to groom future-ready pioneers, humanitarians and innovators for the world, and I
believe that the holistic education that our students receive will help them develop a spirit of
independence, resilience and confidence that will enable them to thrive in a rapidly-changing
world.
We believe that there is no contradiction between learning and fun, joy and the pursuit of
excellence, the global and the local, and between respecting tradition and embracing change.
Our endeavour is to strike a balance between state-of-the-art infrastructure and an
internationally acceptable education.

DINOSAUR UNDER MY BED
Once there was a boy name Rohan. One night, there was a big storm. Rohan was very
scared but his mother told him to go to sleep and not be scared. So, he went to bed. He
could hear the thunder crashing on the roof. He tried to sleep with his favourite teddy in
his arm. Then suddenly he felt something pointy at his feet. He tried to see it but could
not. But then it came out. It was a dinosaur. It was blue and thorny.
He was frightened. He got out of his bed and ran outside his home with his teddy. He
found a truck and started driving it. As he was driving, he looked around. He was in a
jungle. He was very surprised. Then suddenly a Tyrannosaurus came in front of his car and
took his teddy. He shouted.
He then heard his parent’s voices. They were waking him up. He looked up and realised
that he is still in his bed. He understood that it was a “NIGHTMARE”, and there are no
dinosaurs under his bed.
“The worst nightmare is to have no dreams.”

E=mc2
We all have come across the formula of E=mc2; but have we ever thought who
gave this formula and what was his life journey all about. Let's have a brief
study about "The Genius","The Greatest Scientist the World has ever seen", SIR ALBERT
EINSTEIN
Sir Albert Einstein was born on 14th March 1879 in Ulm, Germany in a Jewish family. He did
his early schooling in Catholic Elementary School & Luitpold in Munich. In academics he
showed great command over Mathematics & Physics, and this led him to further study
Algebra, Calculus & Geometry. He completed Secondary Schooling from Agrovian Cantonal
School in Switzerland. In 1900 A.D.; Did Diploma programme in Mathematics & Physics at
the Federal Polytechnic School and later was awarded Ph.D. in Physics in 1905 A.D.
Sir Albert Einstein came under global spotlight in the year 1905; when he published four
papers (theories) on
1). Photoelectric Effect - When light (photons) falls on a metal surface, the energy of photon
is transferred to electron, resulting in release of electron.
2). Brownian Motion - The fast-paced movements of molecules in any fluid because of
collision with other fast-moving molecules
3). Special Theory of Relativity - This theory defines how speed of an object affects mass,
time & space.
4). Mass Energy Equivalence - E=mc2 where E is Energy, m is Mass & c is Velocity of light
Because of this path breaking theories from Albert Einstein; Year 1905 was celebrated as
"Annus Mirabillis" for Physics. This achievement was considered as great as the year 1666
when Sir Isaac Newton discovered Gravity.
Later in 1915, Sir Albert Einstein published "The General Theory of Relativity" which
redefined Gravity as a Space Curve created by the mass of an object.
He also wrote a letter to Mr. Roosevelt, the then President of the United States alerting on the
Nazi's plans to build an atomic bomb and had asked to prepare for a counterattack. He first
termed this letter as "God Letter" however later he described it as "One Great Mistake".
He died on 18th April 1955 at the age of 76 due to internal bleeding.
In 1921, He was awarded "Nobel Prize in Physics" for the "Laws of Photo Electric Effect"
& In 1999, He was awarded "Time Person of the Century". His legacy continues and
inspires people across the globe even today.

FLUFFY BEFRIENDED
Once upon a time there lived a bunny called Fluffy. He lived in the forest, but he was
mean to other rabbits and animals. Fluffy made fun of other animals who could not hop
like him or be as fast as him. Because of Fluffy’s mean and arrogant behaviour, he did not
have any friend. He was not even invited to the parties in the jungle.
One day Fluffy was hopping around in the forest, after a while he felt thirsty, he went to
the nearby river to take a sip of water, but the mud around the banks of the river was very
slippery.
As he was trying to take the sip his leg slipped in the mud and he fell in to the river.
He started screaming Help! Help!
All the animals from the jungle heard Fluffy screaming, though he was mean to them, but
seeing him in danger they all went to the riverside to help him.
Near the bank of the river they saw Fluffy struggling to swim, the elephant helped the
other animals by pulling out a bamboo stick from a bamboo bush near the river bank. As
all the animals held one end of the bamboo stick from the river shore, they pointed the
other side towards Fluffy.
Fluffy then held the other side of the stick and came to the riverside, hopping with joy.
He thanked all the animals and said sorry for his behaviour until now.
From then onwards fluffy was very kind and sweet to every animal. He helped all the
animals however possible.
Lesson: Be kind to others, if you wish others to be kind to you. (Everyone is not as lucky
as Fluffy)

THE MYSTERIOUS LAND

There once was a ship with a pirate and his fellow crewmates. The pirate, Paul had a long-
hooked hat on his head. He wore striped pants with a vest, a suit, a shirt, and a coat. He
looked mysterious. He never had any expressions on his face. He was the wittiest of all and
always remained silent. His crewmates were very funny because, they all looked the same.
They all had long chins with very long moustaches. One night, after a long journey and
robbery, the tired crewmates went to sleep with their moustaches clipped to their hair. It was a
dark night so; Paul stopped the ship near a small island. While Paul was returning to his bed
to sleep, he noticed something very strange. He took his binocular and saw something which
scared him. He took out his map from the pocket and started searching for a safe place
because, he thought that the place was not safe. He saw a sign board it said , “WELCOME
TO NO SAILOR”. On the other board it was written “NEVER STAND ALONE ON THIS
LAND OR SOMEONE WILL TAKE U AWAY “.
Paul was scared so he went to the crewmate Faf and told him everything. Faf said angrily
that it was night and Paul should go to sleep rather than thinking about an ordinary island.
Paul was going to say something but before that Faf threw his pillow on him. Paul then
closed the door and started walking towards his room when he heard a strange noise,”
GET OUT PAUL”. Paul got scared and told Faf to please help him. Then Paul and Faf
went together in the island and they saw that on the other side of the island a ship was
sailing so they tried to communicate but no one replied but everyone on that ship stood
still without even blinking. Faf and Paul started walking in the deep forest of the island.
Then a man came near them , Faf asked the man which island it was. The man replied. “It
was a no sailor land.” Paul asked, “which hour was it that time.”, the man replied it was
“the demon hour”. Both Paul and Faf screamed” ahhhhhhhhhh…” when the man turned
himself into demon. Strange creatures like epic sea monster, giant octopus, megalodon and
water Turano came from the back of the man. Megalodon then started running behind Faf
and Paul. Faf couldn’t save himself so, the megalodon ate him up. While running Paul
found a book. The book was covered with dust and had burnt pages in it. Paul read the
book while running and found the solution to his problem. In the book it was stated that if
someone would put food in the mouth of a special fish demon, Mamtor the things will be
normal. Paul did the exact thing, he fought with other demons with his intelligence. He
then put the food in the mouth of Mamtor. Then everything went silent. All the demons
vanished and Faf, the crewmate came alive. Then came a strange voice out of nowhere
and sai, “You are the real warriors and only you can save the world, as a reward I would
like to gift you a magical boat. This magical Boat could fly above the sky .” Both Paul and
Faf toured the Pacific Ocean at the speed of 1 million km/h. It took them only 2 minutes to
travel and they travelled the world around.

TIME DRAGON
A soldier puts its soil as ‘Tilak’
This time dragon of mine,
Sacrifices life for its sake.
Tick-tok’s perfectly fine.
He brings lost time again,
A sports man tries, at the world platform
so I don’t have to bargain.
To win the Gold, and uphold our anthem
‘Jan Gan Man’.
His home is dark and spooky,
Its name is crooky.
Holy chants of Gita, Bible & Quran and
Its motto is – be happy,
other holy scriptures
be kind and snappy.
Spread a Mantra of peace, to keep the
citizens united.
His eyes look cute,
his breath is as melodious as flute.
Each child is blessed with artistic talents
He never false cries
Sculptures of my land, attract the tourists.

O! DEAR EXAMMM ENCHANTED CARPET
Dear Exam, Whoosh! Blew the wind,
I’m so worried that what if I fail Let me tell you a tale
Like a stupid quail. Neither of a king nor a queen
The clock keeps ticking always It’s quite short and keen.
And the teacher walks and sways
The classmates around keep talking Zoop! Flew the enchanted carpet
Like fast walking right through the wind.
But when you’re over, It took me everywhere,
We cheer and sing hear! hear! Except me it took no one nowhere.
You give us panic attack,
Which is a sad drawback. It’s clean and bright,
We all worry in the night, like a pure wind white.
Like fighting beasts in a fight. Flying in clouds
Please!! We tell you, Not in jaws of hounds.
We’ll all be happy if you go
But instead you say NO. It’s kind to the wind,
Please Listen, Floating ahead, keeping the world behind.
And let us children Go. The Carpet’s everyone’s wish,
BY AARAV MUTHA – 6I As people desiring raw fish.

My friends told me
Not to tell outlandish tales,
And stop turning mellows into whales.
O! dear Carpet,
Be there for someone needy,
but not close to anyone greedy.
Fly me everywhere and anywhere
but take no one nowhere.

LOOK AT THE JUNGLE FLY FREE
Look at the jungle, its full of trees Be free!
Plus, it’s all free!! Just fly from the tree,
Look at it all O! you owl, you elegant fowl
You don’t need to phone or call Just fly around and prowl.
Only relax and watch it dear all. Feel free to glide,
You’ll find it a natural slide.
Look at the monkeys on the trees Just do your work
But in city, there is no free. Like a video game clerk.
Oh! What a clear sight, Just feel and fly
Where there are no fights and rights. Don’t you ever cry
It all will be torn out Hope you will be happy
If humans shout. Flying free in a flash snappy.
O! you owl, feel free
So, dear all, let there be claps And enjoy your spree.
And more flaps, for the jungle. BY AARAV MUTHA – 6I
Look at the animals cry,
Why don’t the birds seem to fly?
Look at the pure water
In city everything is slaughter.
Let it be as it is,
Let it live and flow,
So the life there grows.

THE NIGHT BEFORE
CHRISTMAS
The night before Christmas,
We had a night out
But before Santa came, FUN SCHOOL
It was already lights out. I know a funny school, that’s in my town
Its as funny as a circus clown.
We heard someone breathe, All in all it’s fun,
I know it was Santa. And the best part makes you stun.
But before I knew it, There they teach you wizard magic,
I drank a bottle of Fanta. And there’s ought to be no tragic.
For lunch they serve Sundae and Choco-
I made a loud burp, lava cake,
But didn’t make a sound of slurp. It’s also not poisoned like a snake.
I wouldn’t sleep, I wouldn’t weep, In sports they play Quidditch,
I saw the morning Sun peep. Very easy, just catch the golden snitch.

I woke my friends and opened presents, Riiiinnnngggg!!! Rang the bell

Did everything for the camera trends. Like falling in the well,
The night before Christmas, I woke up from my dream
was soon a night after Christmas. With my alarm’s scream.
. Hope the school of my dream, come true

BRIGHT DAY THE SEA
Brighter than the stars, The waves make noise,
Dulls the moonlight, Disturbing the world by its raising voice,
The sky looks less attractive, But deep beneath,
Is what her eyes look like. It’s as silent as an empty room with no light.
Those starry glowing balls, The world notices the rage,
Staring down at me, The fire pouring out like a volcano in the
The love streaming out, sea,
Makes my cheeks red. But not a single knows ,
The white smile, the sharpened face, ‘bout the darkness, the coldness and the
The red blush, the rose petals on her face, sufferings at the beneath that it bares.
Brightens my day. Sometime, try knowing, understanding and
Her face in the moonlight, so beautiful, make friends with.

Never thought someone’s happiness,
Would brighten my day.

Momenteriously….Happily!
With sweetlings altogether
And Gold coin shining at them,
It’s rays came to it
The little droplets came to It
With air joining at them….
By waving joyfully,
The pots filled with brown
With beautiful flowers up…
Altogether were, Dancing in fun
And this is what….

THE WINTRY SHADES
The whiteling as a cloud, Sat on the earth
By inviting the four
Mischievous one’s
They were the snow, the hail, the frost and IMAGINATION
the northern wind An empty notebook laid open,
The snow having a great white cloak On a voided desk in a dull world.
Covering up the grasses in a great white I held my pen,
shock As the book begged me to write.
The trees getting painted silver with frost…. I glided my pen,
The hail dressed in gray, while breaking-up It wrote in colours and opened a door,
the slates To a land of imagination.
The cube like ice falling down from the sky A court poet grabbed my hand,
Throwing the softness here and there, And took me to places,
The snowflakes running from side to side That never existed in reality.
With children making happily Knights, merchants and commoners
The man of the snow Celebrated the new ruler.
With a hush and a puff I adored the beauty of imagination
It ended with happiness! As I continue to write,

I returned to the colourless world.
