II. Session Outline
Session Title:
Session At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
Objectives: - Identify unfamiliar words and use it in sentence
- Perform body measurements through a pair activity using the
english system measurement
Key Concepts: Accuracy – the exactness of a measured distance or circumference
Body measurement- measuring the actual person (or people) who
will wear garment.
English System – the English system has inches for its basic unit
Garments- a piece of cloth made of textile materials and it is stitched
by means of a sewing machine.
Length – the longer or longest dimension of an object to measure
Measurement – a systematic procedure of determining the quantity
or extent of the entire measurable dimension
Metric System – a decimal system of physical units based on a unit
of length known as the meter (Greek metron, ―measure‖)
Thigh- the part of the leg between the hip and the knee
Vertical measurement- a body measurement that is taken from the
top of the body figure to its base
Weaving- is the craft of lacing fibers together to make fabric or cloth
Width – measurement taken at the shortest dimension of the object to
measure
III. Teaching Strategies

Activity: Board Walk
Materials: chalk
Introduce the topic.
A. Introduction  Group the students
10 mins
and Warm-Up  Let every student in the group to spell the word in
the board.
 Challenge the students to give the definition of the
words and make it in sentence.
Activity: PASS IT AND I WILL MAKE A SENTENCE OUT
OF IT (INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITY)
Materials: pen and paper
 Students must form a circle, and the teacher will
give everyone a different words written in the
flashcards,
B. Concept
15 mins  Students must pass the flashcards to his/her

seatmate while the sound “the wheels on the bus”
is on. And if the sound is off, they must write a
sentence out of the word they were holding for 3
minutes.
 Encourage the students to share their insights
about the sentence they form.
C. Valuing 20 mins Activity: Performance
Materials: tape measure, paper, pen
 Perform body measurements through a pair
activity using the english system measurement.
 Ask this reflective question: "What is the
importance of taking body measurement in
dressmaking?”
 Ask students the importance of taking accurate

Materials: Journals, writing tools, bond paper.
 Write “What I know, what I want to know, what I
