Answers:

2 a The reasons why the people asked in the USA and India eat the foods they do.
b Personal taste
c 15%
d Religious reasons
e 20%
f People in India eat the foods they do mostly for religious reasons, but also for their health,
and to protect the environment and animals, whereas people in the USA eat the foods they
do mostly due to personal taste, although the environment, animal welfare and
culture/traditions are also important reasons. The people from both countries think that
family upbringing makes a difference to the foods they eat, but in the USA, they are less
concerned about eating for religious reasons.
3 Perhaps the information might support the idea that people eat the foods they do for different
reasons depending on where they are from and the upbringing they have had, and that
education might be important in influencing the foods people eat, perhaps so that they eat
more healthily.
