Music of Israel
Music in Israel is an important part of national identity. It is a combination of Jewish
and non-Jewish music traditions that have come together over the past century to create
a distinctive musical culture. When the days of the pioneers began, Hebrew songs and
public sing along (Shira be Tsibur) were common pastime of the early settlers and they
became a defining force for their identity. Jewish immigrants from Europe, Asia, Middle
East, and elsewhere brought with them their musical traditions, blending and molding
them into a new Israeli’ musicians have made significant contributions to classical, jazz,
pop, pop rock and others international music genre that defined their national spirit and
stylistic elements.
Zionist musicians composed hundreds of short simple folk songs for dissemination to
other Israelites which show how music is a very essential part of national identity in Israel.

What is an infection?
An infection is a condition in which pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and
protozoans enter the body and multiply.
Sometimes, pathogens have entered the body and you may not even notice. This is
because our body also has its ways of dealing with the pathogens.
Pathogens are disease-causing microorganisms. When a particular pathogen enters
the body, the immune system comes to work. The immune system sees the pathogen as
an invader so it will try to get rid of it or it "fight" the foreign invader. The process of
pathogens' invasion and the immune system's reactions undergo several stages.
Misconception: You can't spread a communicable disease if you are not sick.
Truth: 20% to 30% of people have the flu and don't show symptoms.
Misconception: You can only infect others when you are in the healing stage.
Truth: You may infect others as long as they are exposed to the pathogens at any stage of
the disease.
The following are personal health habits that you may observe to prevent you from
acquiring or spreading diseases:
Wash your hands regularly.
Avoid sharing personal belongings.
Stay and rest at home when sick.
Handle and prepare food hygienically.
Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze.
Avoid touching animals that may bring diseases.
Make sure you get vaccinated.
Properly disinfect and clean surfaces like toilet bowls, sinks, etc.
Emerging diseases- are diseases that have newly appeared in the population, or that have
existed before and affected only a small number of people in isolated places, or the
disease have occurred in human history but have only been recognized recently as an
infectious disease.
Example diseases:
Lassa Fever
Ebola hemorrhagic fever
Legionnaire disease
Hemolytic uremic syndrome
Aids
Gastric ulcers
Cholera
Hantavirus pulmonary syndrome
Pandemic influenza
