LEARNING STANDARD Main: 1.2.2 Understand with little or no support specific information and details of longer simple texts on a
range of familiar topics
Complementary: 4.3.2 Spell most high frequency words accurately in independent writing.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
1. listen and circle at least 4 answers correctly.
2. spell at least 5 words correctly.
TEACHING ACTIVITIES
1.Teacher asks pupils to look around the classroom. In groups, pupils must write as many things they can see in the classroom in their exercise
books.
2. Based on the words, teacher asks pupils if they could find the things in their classroom 50 or 100 years ago. Pupils share their thoughts.
3.Pupils refer to textbook page 27 Activity 1. Teacher asks pupils if they can see anything on their lists. Pupils share their answers.
4. Teacher explains that pupils will listen to the guide audio 1.11 and write down the school/classroom words they hear. Pupils check the
answers together.
5.Teacher explains that pupils must listen to specific information to complete the activity and it is okay if they do not understand some words.
6.Pupils copy the checkboxes in Activity 2 into their exercise books. Pupils listen to the audio again.
7.Pupils copy sentences in Activity 3 into their exercise books and circle the words as they remember.
8.Teacher replays the audio for pupils to check.
9. Pupils share how is their classroom different than the one in the audio.
