complete aviation security checks into my personal history, criminal record,
financial probity and any other checks required for this role

 If an offer of employment is made to me, I authorise British Airways, or


companies operating on its behalf, to contact individuals or organisations to
verify my references

**Our checks are likely to cover up to five years’ continuous personal,


employment and education history. You’ll need to provide us with names,
addresses and contact details of employment or education referees, with full
details of the positions you held, job titles, dates and responsibilities. Where
there are gaps of 28 days or more, you must be able to provide a suitable
referee to verify your activity during this period. If criminal record checks or
overseas translations of documents are required for the role, you will be
expected to pay for these yourself.

 I am willing and able to spend periods of time away from home

 I am willing and able to work shifts (covering 24 hours a day, seven days a
week and 365 days a year)

 I am able to be within 90 minutes of my airport base when I am on standby


duty

Please confirm that you understand and meet all these physical and safety
requirements, and uniform standards. They’ll be checked if you’re invited to
attend an assessment:

 I have no visible tattoos or body piercings (single piercings in each ear are
permitted for females) and I am willing to wear a uniform to the standards
required by British Airways

 I am prepared to remove any headwear in the event of an emergency

 The fist on the arm I use the most is at least 2.01 metres (6’ 7’’) above the
ground when I extend it above my head, when standing with my feet flat on
the floor. (We call this your functional reach)

 I am between 1.575m (5'2") and 1.85m (6’2”) in height, and my weight is in


proportion to my height

 I am able to and willing to fit into a jump seat harness and adopt the brace
position, without needing to modify the harness or close it with a seatbelt
extension

 I am able to swim for at least 50 metres and then tread water for three
minutes and assist other people in the water

 I know of no reason why I would not meet the cabin
