UNIT 1: MY NEW SCHOOL

LESSON 1: GETTING STARTED

1. OBJECTIVES

2. WARM UP:
3. Goal: To create and active atmosphere in the class before the lesson and
to give Ss a chance to introduce themselves and then to lead into the unit
4. Contents : Ss introduce themselves
5. Expexted result: Ss can feel more interested in the theme “My new
school”
6. Performance:

T introduces / herself, and introduce the new school to Ss first to create a friendly
and relaxed atmosphere and to inspire SS to wam up to the subject and the new
class. Then

have Ss introduce themselves.


T leads to the first unit of the school year. Write the unit title My New School on
the

board. Ask Ss to guess what they are going to leam in this unit. After Ss answer,
ask

them to open their books to page 6. Draw their attention to the box and introduce

what they are going to learn in this unit.

2. PRESENTATION
3. Goal: Present Ss necessary lexical items related to the Topic: My new
school
4. Contents: Ss master some vocabulary through the dialogue by listening
and role playing
5. Expected result: Ss can use the lexical items exactly

on the screen and ask them some questions:
- They’re at Phong’s house
- Where are Phong, Vy and Duy?
- They’re friends.
- Who are Vy and Phong?
- Duy is Vy’s new friend
- Who is Duy?
- Because it is their fisrt day at the new
- Why is it a special day for them? (Why are school.
they so happy?)

- T plays the recordings and asks sts to check
their answer and give a correct answer about
the CONTENTS of the text.

- T introduces the listening part: Today, we are


going to hear a conversation among Phong, Vy
and Duy between about their first day at the
new school
