2. Review
Write a(/)if the statement shows ways on how toprevent hazards brought about
by raising animals and X if thestatement does not show way on how to prevent
hazards.
3. Motivation
Problem: What are the different kinds of four-legged animals/fish being raised as
means of livelihood?
B. Developmental Activities
1. Activity Divide students into small groups and provide each group with images or
information about a specific animal or fish.Ask each group to analyze the
characteristics, benefits, and challenges associated with raising their assigned
animal/fish.
2. Analysis Have each group present their findings, fostering discussion among the students
about the diversity of animals and fish raised for livelihood.
3. Abstraction
Livestock commonly raised for livelihood include cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs.
Fish farming, known as aquaculture, involves species like tilapia, catfish, salmon,
and trout. These animals are crucial for food production and economic
sustenance in many communities.
Here are definitions for some common four-legged animals and fish raised as a
means of livelihood:
1. Cattle: Domesticated ruminants, primarily raised for meat (beef) and dairy
products. Examples include cows, bulls, and oxen.
2. Sheep:Herbivorous mammals kept for their wool, meat (lamb or mutton), and
sometimes milk.
2
3. Goats: Domesticated mammals raised for their milk, meat (chevon or goat
meat), and, in some cases, fiber.
4. Pigs: Domesticated swine commonly raised for pork, bacon, and other meat
products.
6. Catfish: A diverse group of ray-finned fish often farmed for their white flesh,
commonly used in various dishes.
7. Salmon:Anadromous fish that migrate from freshwater to the ocean and back,
raised for their flavorful flesh in aquaculture.
8. Trout: Freshwater fish known for its delicate taste, raised in aquaculture for
both recreational fishing and commercial purposes.
4. Applications Discuss real-world examples of communities that rely on specific animals or fish
for their livelihoods.Encourage students to think about potential innovations or
improvements in raising these animals/fish for livelihood.
V. Evaluating Learning Directions: Carefully observe the pictures and figure out whether the focus
is on raising a four-legged animal or fish. If it's a four-legged animal,
specify the type of animal. If it's a fish, mention the type of fish shown in
the picture.

VI. Assignment Assign students a project to research and create a presentation on a specific
aspect of raising animals or fish for livelihood.Encourage them to explore
sustainable practices and consider the economic, social, and environmental
aspects.
