EFFECTS OF THE SUN ON LIVING THINGS

1. 2.
EFFECTS OF THE SUN’ S HEAT
1. Plants can produce their own food by utilizing the heat of the sun.

2. Animals can survive with the aid of sunlight.

3. Recreational activities such as outing and picnics can be enjoyed

during summer when the sun's heat is high in the sky.

4. Both farmers and fishermen benefit from the sun's heat and light
through drying of crops and fishes.

5. Humans can do lots of activities such as drying of clothes,

harvesting, drying of crops, fishing, and drying of fish and meats.
EFFECTS OF THE SUN’ S HEAT
BENEFICIAL EFFECTS OF ULTRAVIOLET (UV) RAYS
1. It helps skin conditions such as PSORIASIS by slowing the rapid rate
of skin growth and shedding.

2. Stimulates the pineal gland in the brain, causing it to produce

chemicals known as TRYPTAMINES which improve our moods.

3. It helps animal vision. Some animals can see into the near UV LIGHT
to locate food.

4. Sunshine helps some insects find their way around.

5. Plants use sunlight to cook their own food.

6. It is useful for disinfection and sterilization because it can kill or

deactivate microorganisms such as viruses and bacteria.

HARMFUL EFFECTS OF UV RAYS OF THE SUN

1. Too much sun can burn your skin and cause cancer. There are different
types of skin cancer.
Kinds of Skin Cancer:
a. Basal carcinoma
b. Squamous cell carcinoma
c. Melanoma

2. Looking straight at the sun can hurt your eyes.

3. Staying in too much sun for a long time can make you very sick
(heatstroke).

4. Plants get sad and dry out if they get too much sun.
HARMFUL EFFECTS OF UV RAYS OF THE SUN

5. If there's too much sun, the ground gets parched and cracked, which kills
plants and makes it hard to grow food.
6. Animals can get sick and die if it's too hot.

7. Too much sun weakens your body's defense system (immune system).

8. Too much sun exposure makes you look older faster. It wrinkles your
skin and makes it loose.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS ON THE EFFECTS OF THE
SUN’ S HEAT AND LIGHT
1. Block the sun with a hat on bright days.

2. Bring an umbrella to shield you from the strong sun.

3. Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes at the beach when it's hot.

4. Put on sunscreen before swimming to stop your skin from burning.

5. Cover your arms and legs with clothes when working outside in the sun.

6. Find some shade during the hottest part of the day.

WHY IS THE SUN IMPORTANT?
The Sun is really important for lots of reasons. It helps keep life going on
Earth and makes a bunch of natural stuff happen. Here's why it's so
crucial:

Energy Source: The Sun gives Earth most of its energy. It does this
by making lots of light and heat through something called nuclear
fusion. This warmth and light are what we need to live.

Photosynthesis: Sunlight is super important for plants, algae, and

. some bacteria. They use it to make food and oxygen through a
process called photosynthesis. This food and oxygen are what keep
ecosystems running and animals alive.
WHY IS THE SUN IMPORTANT?
Climate and Weather: The Sun's rays control our weather and
climate. The amount of sunlight that reaches different parts of Earth
affects things like temperature, wind, storms, and rain.

Seasons: Earth's tilt as it orbits the Sun gives us our seasons.

Different parts of the planet get more or less sunlight at different
times of the year, which makes it hot or cold and gives us our
seasons.

Water Cycle: The Sun's heat helps water evaporate from oceans,
lakes, and rivers. This creates clouds and eventually leads to rain,
which is how the water cycle works. Without the Sun, this whole
process wouldn't happen, which would be bad news for plants,
animals, and people.
WHY IS THE SUN IMPORTANT?

Human Health: Sunlight helps our bodies make vitamin D, which

keeps our bones strong and our immune systems healthy. Getting
enough sunlight is really important for our overall health.

Navigation: People have been using the Sun to figure out where
they are and what time it is for a long time. Its position in the sky
helps us know which way is which and helps us keep track of time.

Solar Energy: We can use the Sun's energy to make electricity and
heat through things like solar panels. This is a great way to get
energy without using up Earth's fossil fuels, and it helps us fight
climate change.
WHY IS THE SUN IMPORTANT?

In Summary, the Sun is really important for keeping life going

on Earth. It helps plants grow, controls the weather, and gives
us energy. We need it for lots of things, like farming, making
electricity, and finding our way around. So basically, the Sun is
crucial for everything from nature to how we live our lives.
