Nowadays, there is an argument that economic growth in a well-off country will increase

citizen’s satisfaction or not. In my opinion In my opinion, I agree that while there is a limit to
what money can bring, an rising in a country’s economic situation would always delight the
people.

On the one hand, economic wealth is only a part of life satisfaction, therefore, it can only please
people to an extent. First, the poor and those who tend to live a leisurely life will only need a
roof over their heads, food and money to pay for other necessities. Consequently, once these
needs are fulfilled, a surplus of other properties is no longer desirable. Second, a person’s
satisfaction is not made of economic wealth alone but also of their well-being and relationships.
Apart from that, when people only come to you for the purpose of money, it will be troublesome
to develop true relationships that we can trust. Third, there is a limit to material assets that cannot
completely solve health problems, especially psychological problems. For instance, when you
suffer from psychological diseases such as depression or anxiety disorders, you can hire a doctor
to examine and solve the problem, but the most important part is that we must have relatives and
family by our side to be able to overcome this issue.

On the other hand, I believe that however prosperous a country is, additional economic growth
would always appease its citizens. First of all, there are aspects that only a nation’s monetary
reserve can solve, thus, the larger the reserve becomes, the more problems it can tackle. As an
illustration, the overcrowded situation is increasing day by day. Due to this point, money is
definitely the most important thing to be able to build infrastructure such as underground
railways or rebuild convenient roads to reduce crowding. Moreover, an abundance of possessions
will lead to advancements in technology and healthcare or people can use the money for
entertainment purposes. Likewise, economic growth also helps reduce the number of poor
people. The most compelling evidence is more and more philanthropists are willing to help
people in difficult circumstances.

In conclusion, although people require more than wealth to be appeased, I strongly support the
view that economic prosperity will result in increased satisfaction of a nation’s citizens.
