1. SCOPE

The purpose of this Method Statement is to define the specific tasks to be

performed by the SUBCONTRACTOR for erection of hanging scaffold in Gateway
Project.

2. PURPOSE

The scope of this Method Statement is to provide a detailed description for for
erection of hanging scaffold in Gateway Project and to ensure that the work is
performed in a safe, professional and controlled manner by competent trained staff.

3. DEFİNITIONS / ABBREVIATIONS

The following definitions/abbreviations are applicable:

 SUBCONTRACTOR NATIK AHADOV.

 TRA Task Risk Assessment.

 IFC Issued for Construction.

 HSE Health, Safety and Environment.

 PPE Personal Protection Equipment.

 PTW Permit to Work.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES

 Subcontractor’s Engineer is responsible for preparation of the method statement

and Subcontractor’s Superintendent to review/approve the method statement
and ensures the work is carried out in a safe manner.

 The Superintendent shall ensure that his Supervisor conducts daily toolbox talks
with his crew.

5. PROCEDURE

 Personnel involved in operation

Erection of hanging scaffold in Gateway Project will be carried out bypersonnel

- Supervisor – 1
- Scaffolder – 5
- Helper – 1

 Procedure for erection of hanging scaffold in Gateway Project

Activity Procedure

3.1 Risk assessment, Permit to work to be in place and tool-box talk to be conducted
3.2 Working area to be secured and marked by safety tape for operation, sufficient
lighting to be made available if required
3.3 All non-relevant personnel to be restricted from entering working area. Area to be
carefully inspected
3.4 All equipments to be inspected and visually examined prior starting the work
3.5 Setting up work site
3.6 Crane to lift scaffold materials
3.7 Preparation for hooking up
3.8 Independent scaffold will be erected for access and strengthening
3.9 Erection of hanging scaffold – working at height
3.10 Scaffolding will be attached and fixed to the exiting stiffening beam
3.11 Housekeeping and removal of scrap materials will be progressive throughout the
job

 Precaution Notes

1. Contractor is to ensure full compliance with the HSE Procedures,

2. A full Risk Assessment for all works associated with erection of hanging scaffold
to be attached to this method statement.

3. Client and Contractor should ensure that the area around the work is clear of
unauthorized personnel.
