The charts encapsulate the number of newly married couples and divorces in the US and also illustrate

the martial status of Americans aging over 18.

Overall, there are fewer divorces than marriages in America. It is noticeable that most adults in the USA
are engaged.

In 1970 and 1980, the number of newlyweds was plateaued at 2,5 million. There saw a slight decline in
the figures of marriages in the USA in 2 years 1990 and 2000: approximately 2.3 million and 2 million
couples respectively. There were 1 million divorces in both 1970 and 2000. Roughly 1.4 million couples
broke up in 1980 and 1.1 million ten years later.

In both 1970 and 2000, most American adults had married: 70% in 1970 and 60% 30 years later. 15%
adults in the USA had never engaged, and there witness a 5% increase in 2000. The charts showed that
grown-ups in the USA didn't have a tendency of divorcing there partner in 1970 and 2000. The figures for
these don't even reach 10: 2% in 1970 and then slightly gained to 8% 3 decades later. 7% grown-ups
loosing their partner, then mitigated to 5% in 2000.
