EXECUTIVE ORDER NO.08

AN ORDER RE-ORGANINZING THE BARANGAY DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (BDRRMC) OF BARANGAY SAN ISIDRO, SAGBAYAN,
BOHOL.

WHEREAS, Republic Act No.10121, otherwise known as the Philippine Risk Reduction and
Management Act of 2010 which was promulgated on May 27, 2010 with the vision to strengthen
the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction System, provides for the development of policies and plans
as well as the implementation of actions and measures concerning all aspects of disaster, risk
reduction and management, including good governance, risk assessment and early warning
knowledge-building and awareness-raising, reducing underlying risk factors and preparedness for
effective response and early recovery;

WHEREAS, Section 12 of RA 10121 and its IRR mandate the establishment of a Barangay
Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee (BDRRMC) in every barangay and shall be
a regular committee of the existing Barangay Development Council;

WHEREAS, there is a necessity to constitute a Barangay Risk Reduction and Management

Committee to strengthen the barangay government capacity on disaster risk reduction and
management of local risk patterns though decentralized powers, responsibilities and resources;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, VICTOR B. RAMOS, by virtue of the powers vested in me as the

Punong Barangay of San Isidro, Sagbayan Bohol, I do hereby order:

Section 1. CREATION. There shall be created a Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Committee of Barangay San Isidro, Sagbayan, Bohol.

Section 3. FUNCTIONS. The Committee shall perform the following functions:

a)Formulate, adopt and monitor the implementation of Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Plan and conduct review, test and develop the plan consistent with other national
and local planning programs.
b)Ensure the integration of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation into local
development plans, programs and budgets as a strategy in sustainable development and poverty
reduction.
c)Formulate alternative measures to rescue lives.
d)Recommend the implementation of forced or preemptive evacuation of local residents, if
necessary.
e)Convene once every three months, or as necessary.

Section 4. EFFECTIVITY. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
