Understanding the NUSA Program and categories
The Networking with USA (NUSA) program serves as an interface between the Nigerian business community and the U.S. market. By registering with NUSA, the U.S. Commercial Service can help Nigerian businesses identify and connect with American exporters and manufacturers. There are two membership categories: Basic Membership (N53,000:00) and Enhanced Membership (N79,000:00). NUSA Basic registration is geared towards verifying a Nigerian company’s corporate identify and its operations. Under the Basic NUSA registration, we gather ‘basic information and knowledge’ about the Nigerian company. Our Enhanced NUSA Registration is mostly used by Nigerian companies interested to execute transactions, establish business relations (MOU, Joint Venture partnerships, Distributorship/Agency Agreement, etc.…) with their U.S. counterparts. So we will, in addition to all the process for Basic membership, look at the Nigerian company’s 3-year trading and banking references and audited account and check their management structure, profile of directors, shareholders/equity, solicitors, transactions etc.
