ABSTRACT

This study aimed to determine the correlation of the result of the leaving

examination (LE) of the BSEd graduates for the SY 2016-2017 with their rating in

the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). The descriptive-correlation method

was utilized to describe the performance of the BSEd graduates of the College of

Teacher Education (CTE) of Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) Bambang

Campus in the LE and LET. The samples, consisting of 57 LET takers major in

English, Filipino, Mathematics, MAPEH, Social Studies, Physical Sciences, and

Biological Sciences were selected using the convenience sampling method. Mean

was used to determine the performance of the samples in terms of general education,

professional education and major. Pearson r was used to correlate the gathered data.

The correlation along general education and professional education is highly

significant but not in the major. However, the overall findings show that there is a

significant correlation in the result of the LE and rating in the LET. The retention of

the conduct of the LE is thus suggested in order to determine the preparedness of the

students and to heighten their readiness in the LET.
