OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject Improvement in allowances anal facilities for Central employees

of the Central Government serving in the States and Union
Territories of North Eastern Region, Andaman & Nicobar and
Lakshadweep islands (and Silkim also) - Clarification regardhg.

The undercigned is dtected to invite reference to this Ministry's OM No.

11016./1/E.II(B)/84 dt. 29.3.84 read with OMof even number dated 21.5.84 and the
clarifications issued vide OM No. 1101,t/I/E.U(B)/84 dt.23.5.86 in tffiegard and
to say that references have been received in this Ministry regarding
admissibility of the beneflt oI additionat HltA to those Cenfal 'Government
employees who on their transler to NE Region including Andaman & Nicobar
and Lakshadweep islands (and a.lso _i4 Sikkim rv.e.f. 1.8-9f) keep fieir families at
the pre\dous station ofposting in hired or owTl accommodationifter vacating the
C,overnnent accommodation which they were occupying and have to vacate
after fansfer to NE region/A&N and Lakshadweep Islands/Sikkim. It has been
decided that such ofEcers would also be entiued to the beneht of the additional
HRA as per the scheme subject to fiInDment of other conditions and the
stipulation that they should have been in receipt ol HRA at the last duty station
would be relaxed in such cases.
