Fund. Overall leadership to explore open data sources and models, facilitating their seamless integration into
climate and disaster risk assessment processes. It involved harnessing digital and spatial technologies to
enhance the accessibility and applicability of available datasets, ultimately contributing to more effective
disaster risk reduction strategies and informed decision-making. The project developed a prototype risk
assessment tool, which was tested and handed over to the Bank for further testing and scaling.

implementation of a community-based early warning system

Position Held and Activities Performed: Consultant researcher, the project aimed at building flood resilience by
spearheading the implementation of a community-based early warning system. My responsibilities in the
project included collaborating with communities to develop and deploy this crucial system, ensuring timely and
accurate flood warnings to protect lives and property. Capacity building and empowerment of vulnerable
communities to better prepare for and respond to flood events, ultimately strengthening their resilience to
these natural hazards. Support documentation of good practices and explore research areas for knowledge
production.

Snowpack Dependent River Basins for Improving Livelihoods

Position Held and Activities Performed: Stakeholder analyst, the tasks involved in-depth analysis of field reports
related to climate change adaptation initiatives under the HI-AWARE program, which was funded by DFID/IDRC.
A Causal Loop analysis was performed using Vensim software to enhance understanding of climate change
narratives in the region. The role also included preparing reports and closely collaborating with the Program
Coordinator and senior social scientist at ICIMOD to meet project goals. Furthermore, the results and findings
were presented and shared with relevant stakeholders in meetings, workshops, and conferences to maximise
the impact of the research.
