Backend Developer

We are an industrial-AI start-up in the business of accelerating the adoption of Industry 4.0. In other
words, we allow manufacturers to extract more value from their existing legacy infrastructure and
build Smart Manufacturing Factories. We do this with our complete Smart Industry platform which
puts the power of AI (Artificial Intelligence) directly in the hands of subject matter experts (SMEs) and
solves key challenges faced by process manufacturing industries when implementing digital
transformation. Using the Quartic platform, SMEs can create and deploy AI and IIoT applications to
significantly increase productivity and operational performance, without the need for coding or data
science. The Quartic Platform is used by Fortune 100 and 500 companies in pharmaceutical, mining
and metals, and other industries for process optimization, predictive maintenance, and energy
optimization applications. And we are hiring a Backend Engineer who’ll help us in building external
and internal APIs and own the core Backend of our Industrial IoT platform.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, Implement and Scale the backend of Quartic.ai Platform

• Create Abstractions, Database, API, and core packages which are used to build the Quartic
Platform
• Build the backend of Quartic platform’s Human Experience
• Perform Peer Code Review
• Contribution to Innovation
• Be a team player
• Work in articulate, agile, scrum driven fast throughput environment
Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related field with

minimum of 3 years of directly related work experience
• Strong fundamentals in Data Structures, Algorithms, Numerical Methods of Computation,
Operating Systems (and Distributed Software Design ** PP)
• Hands on in full stack components – Non-Relational Databases, ORM, MVC, Caching, Search
• Unix/Linux Shell Scripting
• Experienced in Python and related frameworks like Django, Celery, Daphne etc
• Experienced with database like Postgres, MySQL.
• Experienced with search and messaging like InfluxDB, Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ etc (is optional,
but great to have)
• Experience with Docker, Ansible is a bonus (optional)
• Knowledge and experience in designing software for scalability
• Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) or other development approaches with a focus on high
quality tests. Other testing frameworks like Unit Tests etc are also okay.
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Leads product design and code reviews; can competently review any aspect of their product
or major sub-system
• Drives architecture discussions and proposes solutions to system and product changes
• Produces clear, well communicated, complete designs for product features or sub-systems
• Motivated and interested in delivering results
• Ability to adopt to new development environment, changing business requirements and
learning new systems highly desirable
