Conventional and 21 st
1 Century Literary Genres
As the time passes by, everything changes and everything evolves. Most of the
time, change is all we need to cope up with this rapidly changing world. People
change so with literature. Together with the emergence of the 21 st century learners,
new literary genres evolved. You might have encountered some of them but do not
know what genre they belong.
To further assist you in learning the various 21 st Century genres, let me help
you walk through this module.

Directions: Recall your knowledge about the conventional literary genres of

follow. Use a separate sheet of paper for your answers.

Elements are an inherent constituent of all works of narrative fiction—a
necessary feature of verbal storytelling that could be found in any written or
spoken narrative.

Creative Non-Fiction
• It is accurately defined as ―true stories well told.‖ - Setting
