A Report on

An Exposure Visit of Youth from Jharkhand to Punjab from


March 7th, 2024 to March 16th, 2024.

ACKNOWLEDGEMET
I wish to express my profound gratitude to all those
who facilitated our recent journey from Jharkhand
to Punjab. Foremost, I extend my appreciation to
the esteemed Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra
Modi, for his visionary initiative of "EK BHARAT
SHRESTHA BHARAT" and his unwavering support in
advancing Tourism, Traditions, Development,
People-to-People Connectivity, and Technology in
the Eastern and Union territory regions of India. I
am also deeply thankful to the various ministries
and representatives involved in coordinating this
expedition, notably the Ministries of Tourism,
Culture, Education, Railways, Defense, Youth and
Sports Affairs, and Home Affairs. Their tireless
dedication ensured that our excursion was both
enjoyable and secure, leaving an indelible mark on
our memories. Furthermore, I extend my
appreciation to the entire team at the Central
University of Punjab for their exceptional
hospitality and warm reception. My heartfelt thanks
also go to our companions and all the volunteers
from CUPB whose efforts added to the richness of
our experience. The captivating scenery and the
hospitable locals made our visit truly unforgettable,
contributing significantly to showcasing Punjab's
charm and cultural richness on a global scale. We
pledge to spread the word about this remarkable
destination wherever we go. Once again, thank you
for this incredible opportunity.
Day 0 : Arrival at Jharkhand Nodal Office IIM Ranchi
Date : 7th March,2024

Upon our arrival at IIM Ranchi, we were escorted


to a designated classroom where we could relax
and unwind. Subsequently, our registration
process was swiftly completed, after which we
embarked on a comprehensive tour of the
campus. Following the tour, we indulged in a
satisfying lunch to replenish our energy reserves.
Later in the evening, we were transported to
Ranchi station via bus, where we boarded the
train for our onward journey. As the evening
progressed, we entertained ourselves with jovial
singing and dancing, fostering a convivial
atmosphere. Eventually, we partook in a hearty
dinner to conclude the day's activities.
Undoubtedly, it was an exhausting yet fulfilling
day.
Day 1 : A day in Train Date :8th
March,2024

The rhythmic chug of the train set the backdrop for our
Women's Day celebration, filled with singing and
dancing as we journeyed towards our destination.
Amidst the laughter and camaraderie, we savored
delicious food, sharing stories and memories. As the
day unfolded, we immersed ourselves in friendly
competition, playing games like dumb charades, ludo,
and cards, each moment brimming with joy and
laughter. Together, we celebrated the spirit of
womanhood, cherishing the bond that brought us
together on this memorable travel day.
Day 2 : Arrival at Central University of Punjab Campus
Date : 9th March, 2024

Upon our arrival at Ambala Cantt railway station, we


embarked on a bus journey that led us to the serene
grounds of the Central University of Punjab campus.
Following a restful night, we were graciously accommodated
and treated to a sumptuous breakfast. Welcomed by the
esteemed chief guest and faculty members, the air was
filled with the vibrant beats of melodious dhol and the
sweet fragrance of flowers. We were further honored with
the traditional embroidery art of Phulkari.

After a hearty lunch, we embarked on an enriching


excursion to the historic Bathinda Fort, where we also paid
our respects at the revered Gurudwara. Subsequently, we
explored the bustling Bathinda market, indulging in the
purchase of thoughtful gifts for our loved ones back home.
Day 3 : Visit to Hussainiwala Border
Date : 10th March , 2024

In the early hours of the morning, our campus came alive with
vibrant sports activities, commencing with a rejuvenating
session of yoga to invigorate both body and mind. Following
this, we indulged in the spirited game of gilli danda, relishing
every moment of friendly competition.

Later, our journey took us aboard a bus to the hallowed grounds


of the Hussainiwala border, where we were graciously received
by the Border Security Force. With unwavering enthusiasm, we
witnessed the awe-inspiring India-Pakistan retreat ceremony,
immersing ourselves in the patriotic fervor that enveloped the
atmosphere.

Our expedition continued with a visit to the Hussainiwala


National Martyrs' Museum, a poignant reminder of the
sacrifices made by our valiant freedom fighters. Here, amidst
the echoes of history, we solemnly paid homage to those who
laid down their lives in the pursuit of our nation's liberty.
Day 4 : Visit to Golden Temple ,Jallianwallah Bagh
and Attari-Wagah Border
Date : 11th March,2024

We embarked on our journey at the break of


dawn, boarding the bus that would carry us on a
four-hour expedition to the historic city of
Amritsar. Upon our arrival, our first destination
was the solemn grounds of Jallianwala Bagh,
where the weight of history hung heavy in the air,
encapsulated within the very structure of the
site.
Next, we ventured to the resplendent Golden
Temple, a sacred sanctuary where we reverently
bowed before the revered Harmandir Sahib.
Here, amidst the serene ambiance, we partook in
the communal meal of langar, savoring the
delectable flavors that nourished both body and
soul.
Following our spiritual journey, we made our way
to the Attari-Wagah border, where we were
greeted with warmth and hospitality by the
Border Security Force. Amidst the palpable
anticipation, we bore witness to the historic
India-Pakistan retreat ceremony, an emblematic
display of national pride and mutual respect.
Day 5 : Industry Visit And Cultural Night
Date : 12th March, 2024

We had the privilege of visiting the Hmel Guru


Gobind Singh Refinery, where we were
enlightened about the intricate processes
involved in crude oil processing, its
transportation, and the profound historical
significance and benefits this project brings to
Punjab. Subsequently, we embarked on a
spiritual journey to Takht Shri Damdama Sahib,
where we humbly paid our holy tributes.

Upon our return, the evening unfolded into a


vibrant cultural celebration. We showcased our
tribal dance, immersing ourselves in the rich
tapestry of our heritage. In a delightful
exchange, we eagerly absorbed the exuberant
rhythms of the traditional Punjabi dance form,
Bhangra, from the talented dancers present. It
was indeed a night filled with joy, camaraderie,
and cultural exchange.
Day 6 : Visit to NSNIS Patiala and NITTTR Chandigarh
Date : 13th March, 2024

During our eventful day, we had the privilege of visiting


the esteemed Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports,
where we were treated to a nourishing lunch, meticulously
prepared to fuel the bodies of elite athletes.
Subsequently, we delved into an enlightening exploration
of the institute's state-of-the-art laboratories, where we
gained insights into the sophisticated machinery and
methodologies employed to analyze and optimize the
techniques utilized by athletes.

Immersing ourselves further into the sporting realm, we


were given a comprehensive tour of the institute's top-tier
facilities, witnessing firsthand the cutting-edge amenities
available to athletes in training. Additionally, we had the
opportunity to peruse the museum, marveling at artifacts
of historical significance that underscored the rich
sporting heritage nurtured within these walls.

Continuing our journey, we arrived at the National


Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research
(NITTTR) in Chandigarh, where we were warmly greeted
with open arms. Here, amidst convivial company, we
partook in a sumptuous dinner before retiring for the night
in the comfort of their accommodating hostel facilities.
Day 7 : Visit to Rock Garden and Raj Bhavan
Date : 14th March, 2024

In the morning, we embarked on a leisurely


stroll to Sukhna Lake, nestled within the
picturesque city of Chandigarh. Following this,
we explored the Rock Garden, marveling at its
ingenious use of recycled materials to promote
sustainability and reduce waste. Our next
destination was Shastri Market, where we were
astounded by the diverse array of merchandise
on offer. Later in the evening, we had the
privilege of engaging in a meaningful dialogue
with the esteemed Governor of Punjab, Shri
Banwarilal Purohit, at Raj Bhawan, where he
imparted invaluable life principles for success.
Concluding our day with a delightful dinner, we
commenced our journey back to Ambala Cantt
railway station, where we boarded our train
homeward bound.
Day 8 : A day in train again. Date : 15th
March,2024

The final day aboard the train was infused with


emotions, yet we savored every moment.
Engaging in activities like card games and dumb
charades, we relished the camaraderie. Upon
reaching Ranchi station after a day's journey,
we concluded our expedition.
Reflecting on my
learnings:
- I grasped the essence of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam –
वसधव कटम्बक," understanding the global family
concept.
- Immersing myself in our rich history in real-time, as a
participant in the "Ek Bharat-Shresth Bharat" initiative,
I feel woven into the fabric of our nation's narrative.
- Cultivating a profound affection for our motherland,
India.
- Acknowledging the potential for harmony in nature
through incremental efforts.
- This commendable initiative, spearheaded by our
honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, along
with various ministries and departments including
Education, Culture, Tourism, and Youth Affairs and
Sports, promises to catalyze our nation's development.
- Participating in this cultural exchange program has
heightened my awareness and appreciation for diverse
cultures and peoples.
- I firmly believe that fostering good minds and
goodwill is integral to a nation's greatness. Planting the
seeds today, through initiatives like Yuva Sangam- Ek
Bharat Shresth Bharat, ensures a bountiful harvest of
prosperity in the future.
- The overarching themes of brotherhood, love,
communal harmony, patriotism, and a sense of duty
towards our motherland resonate deeply with me.
- Finally, I realize that this journey is perpetual, with no
definitive end. It's a continuum, a voyage to be
sustained and nourished.
