Establishment of Entrepreneur for breed development in small
ruminant sector (sheep and goat farming)
Objective of the Scheme:
To develop entrepreneurs in small ruminant sector and sustainable business model on sheep-goat, to incentivize Individuals Entrepreneurs, FPOs, FCOs, SHGs, JLGs, and Section 8 companies for development of integrated rural sheep-goat production system, Conversion of the small ruminant sector from unorganized sector to organized sector through promotion of entrepreneurship & investment and creation of forward & backward linkages, Spreading awareness about scientific rearing practices, nutrition, disease prevention etc., Promotion of stall feeding model of sheep and goat rearing. Sheep-Goat Unit Establishment and Max. Subsidy Ceiling: 100+5 units (Rs.10 lakh subsidy), 200+10 units (Rs.20 lakh subsidy), 300+15 units (Rs.30 lakh subsidy), 400+20 units (Rs.40 lakh subsidy), 500+ 25 units (Rs.50 lakh subsidy) Mode of Application and Eligibility: Applications can be made by Individuals, Entrepreneurs, Self Help Group (SHG)/Framers Producer Organizations (FPO)/Farmers Cooperatives (FCOs)/Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) and Section 8 companies at www.nlm.udyamimitra.in on NLM online portal of Government of India. Required documents for enclosure with application: Proof of Residence, Aadhaar Card, Caste Certificate (if applicable), Proof of Land Possession (Ownership or Lease), Educational Qualification Certificate, Sheep and Goat Husbandry Training Certificate, Income Proof(IT Returns of Last three finanacial years), Last Six Months Bank Statement, G.I. tagged photograph of Project Site, Detailed project report (with total cost, recurring cost, net income etc.), proof of experience in any livestock rearing activities, Proof of expenditure of 50% of the total project cost as per the beneficiary's share. IMPLEMENTING ORGANIZATION: State Implementing Agency (Office of the Director of Animal Husbandry, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar) and Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India Other conditions: Bank-ended subsidy up to a maximum of 50% for bank loans or self-financing for the capital cost of the project by the Central Government. Entrepreneurs/eligible entity have to arrange the remaining amount other than subsidy through bank loan or financial institution or self-financing. The minimum beneficiary contribution for bank Financed projects 10% of total project cost. One-time capital subsidy of 50% of the total project cost up to a maximum of Rs.50 lakhs will be given. The subsidy will be a capital subsidy and will be provided in two equal installments. No subsidy will be provided for working capital, personal vehicle, purchase of land, cost of rent and lease of land. In case of self-financed projects, the project is appraised by the bank where a bank guarantee from an approved scheduled bank for three years is required for the remaining cost of the project in addition to the cost of subsidy. Further, all conditions of NLM scheme guidelines of Govt. of India have to be strictly followed.
