TASK 1
Topic: Patterns in Nature and Regularities in the World
Direction: Make a collage of some examples of things/objects that shows patterns and
regularities in nature.
TASK 2

TASK 3
Topic: Golden Ratio
DIRECTION: The Greeks liked to make their statues with Golden Ratios twinkling in
them. To see how they did this, measure the distances between features on the statue
picture as accurately as you can to the nearest millimeter, writing the answer as a
decimal number of centimeters.
Top of head

Chin
1. Record your measurements from the illustration.
A. Top of Head to Chin = . cm
B. Top of Head to Pupil = . cm
C. Pupil to Tip of Nose = . cm
D. Pupil to Lips = . cm
E. Width of Nose = . cm
F. Distance Between Outside Edges of Eyes = . cm
G. Width of Head = . cm
H. Hairline to Pupil = . cm
I. Tip of Nose to Chin = . cm
J. Lips to Chin = . cm
K. Length of Lips = . cm
L. Tip of Nose to Lips = . cm.
2. After you have measured these lengths, calculate the ratios
indicated. (Remember A/B means A divided by B on your
calculator.)
A. A/G =
B. B/D =
C. I/J =
D. I/C =
E. E/L =
F. F/H =
G. K /E =
Your answers to the above ratios should be near the Golden Ratio,
1.618. If you are very far off on any one of them, recheck both
your measurements and your calculations.
