Ex1:

The table compares four different countries in terms of the IELTS average band scores received by
students in 2009.

At first glance , it is clear that German students had the highest overall score with the listening,
writing, and speaking scores which reached the top compared with other three countries.

Out of four skills, speaking scores outperformed the other three skills of students in all four
countries with the German’ speaking scores which was noticeably highest , and band 6.9 , followed
by the Malaysian and Vietnamese’s ones , at 6.8 and 6.7; meanwhile , the French had the lowest
speaking scores,at 6.6. In terms of listening and writing skill , German students received the highest
band , respectively 6.8 and 6.6, which was in contrast to the Malaysian , at 6.2 and 6.0; in addition,
French and Vietnamese students’scores maitained the middle position, at 6.3 in listening skill and
around 6.2-6.5 in writing one.

Turning to reading skill, it witnessed an opposite trend of the Malaysian , scores , the test-takers
rêcived the best reading rating compared with the German,s scores, which was slightly band 1
lower . It can be seen that Vietnamese and French students both possessed the same reading scores
reading the nadir, at 6.1.
Ex2:

The table compares eight countries in terms of favourite recreations of the residents who are from
30-50 years old.

At first glance , it is clear that most people are in their 30-50 years old in all mentioned nations
read books in their space time . Particularly , the favourite pastime of Japanese is only reading books.

According to the given figures , all Canada, Australia and the USA’s residents adorre watching in
their free time , approximately 60-65%. With similar figures , reading books is also considered as
three nations’s preffered hobbies, which are Korea, China and especially , Japanese. In addtion, in
France , England and Japan , it is obvious that according to the data not provided , reading books is
preffered the most of the residents here.

In terms of music and sleeping, the USA and British people witness a similar pattern , around 20%;
whereas , less than 5% people speand time for these in the rest of other nations. Interestingly , going
to the beach is also preffered activities of Australian and US citizens, at 30% ,which experiences an
opposite trend in Canada, Korea and China at an extremely tiny portion.
Ex3 : The table below shows the consumer durables (telephone , refrigerator,
etc.) owned in Britain from 1972 to 1983. Write a report for a university
lecturer describing the information showwn below. You should write at least
150 words.

The table data represents information about the proportion of British residents’s households with
eight specific consumer products between 1972 and 1983.

As can be seen that the most common consumer electronic item in Britain ưaas televisions,
whereas the lest housseholds owned dishwashers and video players.

As for the table data, TV was the most frequently used device in Britain over the years,
approximately 100%; which was followed by people ‘ s use of vacuum cleaner and refrigerator at
87% and 73% respectively in 1972 , then witnessing a constantly increasing trend of 10%. A quite
similar pattern was repeated for the percentage of washing machine , it was 66% in the beginning
year , then continued its upwward trend more constantly to 80% during the whole time frame.

Turning to the figures for central heating and telephone , these two devices were more and more
popular to users over the period of 11 years when observing a considerably growth from 40% to
70%.However , the video was introduced in 1983 when only 18% housses used it. Eventually ,
dishwashers were least popular as only 3 to 5% families possessed these.
Ex4 :

The given bar chart compares India’s gross domestic product in terms of agriculture , industry and
services between 1960 and 2000.

Overall , it is clear that the Indian ‘s agriculture and industry witnessed a decreasing movement. On
the other hand , the Indian started concentrating on services of its country , experienced a
considerable increase during the whole time frame.

In 1960 , the Indian government’s agriculture was the most invested industry with the highest GDP
rate , at 63% ; which was followed by industry and service sector with ínignificant figures , 15% and
17% respectively. Over the period of the next 10 years the percentage of agriculture declined slightly
to 55% , whereas , both the rest of sectors were on the rise to 20% and 22%. This tendency still
continued until the end of 1980 , the data of agriculture , industry and services were 45%, 25% and
28% correspondingly.

In 1990 , the Indian government experienced an opposite trend which was also seen in the
agriculture and services ‘s figures . From 1990 to 2000, the Indian government concentrated less on
agriculture , which witnessed a downward trend to 12%; meanwhile , service sector gradually played
an important role in the domestic economy of this country with the same high figures of the
agriculture’s beginning ones, at 65%. Partiicularly , industry sector experienced a plateauat 25%
during the whole time frame.
Ex5 :

The two pie charts elucidate the proportion of cultural and leisure activities that boys and girls
participate in.

Overall , it is clear that computer games account for the highest percentage for boys, which is
followed by the percentage of girls’s dancing. On the other hand , only a minority of boys and girls
are keen on reading and listening to music. Particularly, boyss and girls are interested in listening to
music equally.

Look at the similarities, for both boys and girls , they are both keen on listening to music, at 10% ,
which is a percent lower than the proportion of skateboarding of boys and gymnastics of girls. The
proportion of playing soccer for girls and playing computer games of boys do not do not make a
significant difference which is less than 20%.
