Rizal's Life

Rizal Mercado y alonso Realonda had managed to engrave his name in history as he is known to
be the national hero of the Philippines. Even though more than decades has already passed after his
death stories about his life and his heroic deeds has already reached even until today's generation. He
was knowned to be selfless, compassionate, strong-willed, and had an unparralleled intelligence and
love for his country. He was also famous for making brilliant literary works which was his weapon in
fighting with the spanish government. One of his famous qoutes was "He who never knows how to look
back will never get to his destination".

Rizal came from one of the biggest families during their time. They were a well-off and loving
family. The mercado-rizal family was also found to contain traces of mix descents. Her mother, Donya
Teadora Alonsowas his first teaher, a patient and conscentious woman who taught Rizal the alphabhets
at the age of 3. He inherited a deep sense of self-respect, a love of work, and the habit of independent
thought from his father. Meanwhile, he acquired his devout temperament, spirit of self-sacrifice, and
love of the arts and literature from his mother. During his childhood days he was taught well by his
parents and uncles. He was real known prodigy as he was able to create poem at the age of 8 and not to
mentioned that he specialized in excelling at academic studies during his school days. There was also a
famous anecdote involving the young rizal who lost his slippers but proceeded to throw his other
slippers in hope that those who don't have slippers would manage to find his two slippers and wear it
happily. This shows that even at such a young age he had the mind of a sensible, sympathetic and
mature man. This same man created a novel (Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo) criticising their
current government in hopes to open the minds of the Filipinos discarding the risk posing his life.

The sacrifice he made has given as the freedom we have up until this day. His life and his famous
novel Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo was now being mandatorily taught in all educational
institutions under the Republic Act No. 1425. His name was now the embodiment of nationalism and
patriotism. Through out the Philippines, José Rizal was now remembered for his brilliance, heroism,
peaceful resistance to tyranny, and compassion.
